Stupid car mods you love to hate?

That's why they offer bypass valves in some of the better CAI's like those from AEM. They open if the car goes through water to allow the engine to draw air and not water. Most people though, use cheap CAI's they buy on E Bay for $50, and not the better, but more expensive AEM parts. Mine was an E Bay cheapie I got for $50, but it was supposed to be an experiment to see if I could get to 60 in less than the 12 seconds it normally took.

The nascar wing mopar had a shorter wing then the street cars and it was adjustable and its why nascar banned it.The street cars had a taller wing so the trunk could be opened and it was not adjustable pretty much there so they could sneak the one in on the nascar.

yeah i worded that badly. 😳 no i didn't mean directly under the engine. but i have seen them lower than the engine, and not in the fender. they basically sat in front of the oil pan.
at least it made diagnosis real easy. "my car just died on me and it won't restart" tow the car back to the shop, pop the hood and theeeree's the problem.

i forgot to say---chameleon paint i hate that sh*t, even though my wife had it on her car, i hated it.

Stick-on graphics decals that mimic custom paint. Chrome door edge guards from Wal Mart. Metal flake window tint. Cars with random interior parts painted some bright color like lime green, yellow or white. I saw my favorite today though. It was a Mercedes Benz 190E from around 1985 (W124 Chassis) with a chameleon paint job, and a bright Yellow vinyl interior. Yes, everything including the floor was covered in bright yellow vinyl. Fortunately, it was in the junkyard where it will soon be crushed and shredded--a fate befitting such an abomination!
