Speaking of underlayment, have you given much thought as to what you will use ? Heat/sound barrier?

Not much beyond a passing consideration TBH. I’m still a ways away from needing to worry about that yet, so I haven’t decided on a final course of action. At least not much beyond being able to say it will definitely get something, just not sure exactly what yet.

I will say tho, that the heat concern is a lot less now that the tailpipes stay underneath the floor and no longer pass through those goofy tubes I had originally thought to go with. In all reality the exhaust system isn’t much different than a regular one, the biggest concern now is the location of the mufflers behind the seats. This is likely where I’ll have to concentrate most of my attention to heat and noise management.

As for where the tailpipes pass through the body, I just might wrap a narrow section of titanium header wrap around the pipes in the middle of the pass-through, not for heat concerns, but rather just in case the pipes move in the openings a bit. The titanium fabric should keep the metal components from banging and rattling.

I like this logic. It helps w/minimizing heat transfer but can also have some impact on potential sound related issues.

What about some of that schwanky gold reflective heat barrier stuff under the car?
That’s a definite possibility. Although I don’t think it’s going to match the paint scheme.

Way behind in updating, and no time to do a proper one now, but big things have been happening on the car.

Just going to leave a photo dump here for now, should at least give y’all an idea of what I’ve been up to and how things are progressing.

Suffice to say, things are rolling right along, and super excited to finally be back on the last sections of the floor!

You need to start a "Fabrication p*rn" only fans ! I feel like it could help finance the build! I think you'd get quite a few subscribers from here!

It’s been far more fabrication than I ever thought I’d get into on this thing. I mean, I knew parts of it would be fabrication intensive, but not to the extent that it’s been so far, and I’m not even done yet.

Coming up next fairly quick this winter season after the floor and rear firewall are done, will be to pull the body back off the frame and put it up on the 6x6’s and jack stands again so we can custom smooth the front firewall. That’ll entail a whole bunch more fabrication again!
I’ll just keep plugging away I guess.
