Thats a question I have no answer for. I dropped the old rear off the control arms, I figured hooking them back up would put it the same way the old one was.

I would check it after you install it, if it's off you can get vibrations and u-joints can wear out prematurely

When any of you got your rear end, did the universal joint hold down clamps come with it? The new yoke takes different ones. On a Yuo Tube video he was putting a QP 9 in an 89 Camaro and said the hold downs and a gasket came with the center, also crush washers to bolt it in. I got none of these with my center today.

I bought this style back when I bought mine, I think my Moser came with the standard steel straps.

I ordered my 9” from WP. It came complete with u-bolts (I don’t run straps) and gasket but, I had to add them when I was building my rearend before going through checkout.

I also installed my rearend complete (in 2017). Much easier that way. Left the rearend on the jack, hooked up the lower arms and raised it up until I could hook up the upper arms. Pretty simple.

I recently replaced my center section with a different setup in the car. They’re awkward and heavy to do by yourself but still doable.

I didnt get them with my yoke. They also sent the wrong T bolts but a quick phone call had it solved in 10 minutes.

What form of sealing is best ? Gasket, RTV, or both? I’ve watched video’s where they’ve done either. One guy claims this is best, another guy says ect. ect. What have you guys experienced?

If you’re referring to sealing the 3rd member, don’t use RTV. Do yourself a favor by spending in the $20 range for a “Lube Locker” gasket.
They install dry and absolutely do not leak.

They’re available just about anywhere online.
