Theoretically. if I can get the wiper motor to run like the one in my '95 Olds Ciera, I'd be a happy camper. The notion of going with a shorter arm coming off the motor sounds interesting, but again it would require extending the transmission arm for it to link up. You have very little movement of the motor mounting.

As for the pulse circuit boards, as far as I know, they're NLA, but if I recall correctly, someone was either reproducing them or repairing them.
Awhile back, I was able to pull one or two delay/pulse boards. One turned out bad, the other worked. I admit, they are getting hard to come by.
As far as getting the later replacement motor to run like one in a newer GM car, there's got to be a viable solution. After all, these parts have come from a similar vehicle...just a few years newer.

Jim (64nailhead) Could you elaborate on what mods you performed in order to get the wiper motor to function "normally"? You did mention something about zener diodes. Please explain.
It will take me a day Jack, but I'll find it for you.

Are you looking for something better than the stock setup?

Thank you, Jim, I appreciate it.
Frankly, if I can improve what I have, that would be awesome. It's basically a stock system, but using later G-body parts. I'd also be open to an upgraded system, kind of what our fellow member used going with the 2000 Bonneville wiper motor. However, the wiring looked a bit more involved. I think I did take down the notes somewhere. Again, I wouldn't object to going with an upgraded system. The way it is currently is no help to me.

Here is the thread that had all that info:

The one I have is still going strong, but it is not exactly plug and play.

Ah, there you are. Thank you for reposting the link to your thread. It was quite informative. Yes, I remember it wasn't quite a plug and play installation. I'm glad to hear that it's still working for you.

Is that one that's prone to breaking if you breathe it on wrong?

Lol! Yeah, that's the nature of the beast. I've broken at least one before. don't feel bad. If I had a decent spare I'd let you have it, but my spare has the broken clip. Sorry.

Where did you manage to find the proper corresponding plugs/ pigtails for the Bonneville wiper motor? Were they junkyard parts? Did you find the replacement (Bonneville) wiper motor somewhat compatible with your stalk mounted wiper switch? I did notice that some of the wiring used different colors other than the stock G-body colored wires.

The motor pigtail came with the motor when I bought it, but they are pretty easy to find in the junkyard. I bought mine off of ebay due to the COVID lockdown crap that was going on, but they are pretty easy to find.

Those motors actually wire perfectly to the 2 speed switch in 84-87 positive ground systems. I don't have a negative ground switch to check against.

The wiring isn't terrible on the motor.

Yellow - +12v, goes to acc tap in the fuse panel
Purple - High Speed
Brown - Low/Delay, +12v for low speed, 0-680k variable resistor inline for delay
Red - Wash cycle, +12v while switch is in wash position.
Dk Green - Unsure on that one, may not be connected on mine, but I will have to look.
