thanks been driving alot lately about 450 miles already. now im thinking to swap transmission to 2004R with overdrive so i can get better gas mileage. im been research abit its says better uses 200-4R than 700R4 because 2004R is direct bolt on without any mods. and i found 200-4R with 60K miles for 250 bucks. and i want to add tach, oil pressure, temp etc into my wagon by use factory ones its will just bolt on and swap senors its will be works?

thanks!

might want to think about changing the rear end ratio if you go with an overdrive transmission. with the overdrive and a 2:41 ratio you will be too low of rpm and motor will be lugging.

Dana,
I would have to agree with you there. A set of 3.42's or 3.73's...3.23's would still be better than 2.41 gears. It will be like running at a high idle on the road with 2.41's.

By installing different gears and the 200-4R, it would be like preliminary preparation for your future engine swap. In the meantime it would help with the performance of your V-6.

I would do a comparison between the 383 and an LS engine. They both might end up being almost equal price wise.

i would pick LS engines and i can get cheap but im not in rush so mostly im focus is my wagon "rare parts" like quarter glass trim. mine r still good but rust take over on chrome its no way to save them. and im lucky that my wagon dont have any rust and im not plan to driving during winter. so as right now my goals is get repaint to original color. or different color still undecide.

if you decide that the 1/4 glass trim is too rusty, let me know cause i would be interested in buying them

Does your wagon have the metal quarter window trim? Your year would typically have the rubberized stick-on junk.
