Ah, gotcha!
Yessir. I've found we drive a lot more since moving down south. Took 13 years to put 270k on my 87 suburban before it was put up in new england. But the 2016 mustang already has 120+k miles on it we bought down here.

Mac, did you think you were opening a portal to the 7th ring of hell when you started this thread?
I'm going to guess that he knew what would happen - and he's smiling about it presently 🙂🙂

I would consider an LS swap but....

#4: The HP numbers war. Sure LS motors make power. But you 'gotta spin them. I (we) had an '02 CE-T/A (w/the LS6 cam/intake). I loved it once the trans died & the rebuilt unit got upgrades & a 2600 stall. Nice back & forth car but I sure don't recall it ever planting my butt in the seat like a 400sbc or big-block could back in my younger days. Granted, I haven't been in an LS7 app or in a built 6.0 so that's my personal limited exposure.

An LS2, LS3, LS7,etc are not 4.8's and 5.3's from the junkyard for $2-300. Performance engines they are not in a stock application in their original trim. And you're spot on - these need to spin to the moon to make any go IMHO.

Humorous story, my son drove my MC home when it 1st came to our house. - 4.8 with too large of a turbo, healthy cam and the STOCK converter. He walked in the garage, handed me the keys and said what in the hell did you build? This thing is pathetic to drive - 4 seconds at WOT throtte before it makes any boost and climbs to 5K rpm's. He asked me if I was crazy.

I explained that the fun doesn't start until 5500-6000 rpm's and the new converter would help. He just shook his head and thought I was nuts. He was comparing it to his Cutlass with 421ci that makes well over 400hp before boost by 4500rpm's.

It's all relative imo.

You guys are all nuts. To each his own. you can spend to much on any engine and there is always one better. What about the 6.2? Buy one of those. For me I want a 6.4 hemi in my wagon. I will NEVER have a LS in my 65 Biscayne. Over priced 409/447 for that one. And an LS can out run everything I have. :blah: :friday:

An LS swap thread that turned into a dumpster fire and I didnt get to be part of it. 😥

You still have time to throw in your bag of trash and see if it burns.

Most folks here are probably too old or too young to get the reference.
