Not a purchase unless you count the mini-grinder wheels that I bought to do the work but did end up having to shave a second set of clam shells for my 85 because the first set did not fit. Apparently GM did not make one clam fits all but took the basic construct and altered it to fit the application, i.e. G, B, and F bodies and G/C/K vans/trucks. No idea what the first set came from. I do plan to post a full set of comparison pics over in the project zone.

New skins- those damn Mastercrafts have become downright dangerous in the rain, and it getting colder only makes it worse. They still look okay (kinda); they just suck in the rain. Found these: ship to store, plus $80 installation on a Sunday at my local Schlep Boyz- all done for $380. Never done it this way; hope it works!

Big talk for a guy with his engine on a stand... :p
And i'm not claiming my car is fast. Never did. My friend's 5.3 1500 with 325,000 miles on it keeps up with this no issue. In reply to Northern, I was saying the 350 Buick was the better option to swap in, as opposed to a pontiac 400. And when was I ever running my mouth?

I kid, I kid. If I got anyone's panties in a bunch I apologize.

And I'm game to race this spring if Zach heads out to eddyville when I do. If my car still runs.
That would be like if I asked you to meet me at Humboldt Dragway. I am not going to drive two and a half hours to race my slow car. Especially when I have a drag car sitting in my other shop. Lots of quite county blacktops around here, just saying. It will only take 14 seconds!

410ftlbs stock, bolts up to my transmission AND engine mounts, and uses the same front drive, starter, fuel line locations, fuel pump, water pump, timing cover, fittings, etc. Plus is just shy of 500lbs all iron. If the internet is to be believed, 450. Even if it weighed 550 like a sbc does (does not :p ) the aluminum intake alone shaves 50lbs. add another 50 for the aluminum heads, 450lbs. :D

Pontiac has aftermarket support, and a 400 can very quickly and easily be a 461 with modern diesel torque numbers.

50lbs difference between 2 motors is irrelevant. You arent fighting for the last 10th on your 17.0 et.
