What did you buy for your G body today? [2019]

Bought some studs for my radial caliper mounts, the ones that came in it were too short because it wasnt designed for rotors as big as I'm using.

Got another pair of used Cup car rotors, these ones were definitely used in a full race. A friend of mine works at a big clutch shop and has offered to blanchard grind all of it for me to get them smooth again. Got some bobbins too, gotta do some surface grinding on them to get the thickness I need.

This quick change should be done within a few weeks, then I can move on to the front modular spindles.

I'd have ripped it out for a 400 Pontiac, allowed it to do what it was meant to, keep boats from floating away.

068 cam, 6x-4 heads and a performer RPM intake. 400ft/lbs all day, and bolt up to your transmission. That's a win son.
410ftlbs stock, bolts up to my transmission AND engine mounts, and uses the same front drive, starter, fuel line locations, fuel pump, water pump, timing cover, fittings, etc. Plus is just shy of 500lbs all iron. If the internet is to be believed, 450. Even if it weighed 550 like a sbc does (does not 😛 ) the aluminum intake alone shaves 50lbs. add another 50 for the aluminum heads, 450lbs. 😀

I can't wait until you get spanked by a junkyard LS with a Chinese turbo on it so you can stop running your mouth.

🙄

Or maybe a turbo six?

Now I got to replace the alternator, any recommendations? I had been trying to reach out to DC Power but can't get a hold of them and their website says like 3 weeks wait for it to be built.
I have a DC Power 180 on my Monte and even though it was pricey it is still the best alternator I have ever ran and holds up to my mid 7,000 RPM shifts and still has 14+ volts at idle with all of my accessories on.
I went with the DC 180 amp after having my name brand 200 amp alternator get so hot on the Dream Cruise that my belt started slipping at idle.
They did have a few week build time since they were made to order.

Big talk for a guy with his engine on a stand... 😛
And i'm not claiming my car is fast. Never did. My friend's 5.3 1500 with 325,000 miles on it keeps up with this no issue. In reply to Northern, I was saying the 350 Buick was the better option to swap in, as opposed to a pontiac 400. And when was I ever running my mouth?

I kid, I kid. If I got anyone's panties in a bunch I apologize.

And I'm game to race this spring if Zach heads out to eddyville when I do. If my car still runs.
