The inner window sweeps arrived today. Dixie Restoration had the best price but I paid a few more to RockAuto for quicker delivery. RockAuto has the Fairchild product with the same part number listed for the Grand Prix and Monte Carlo for the set of 4, in and out sweeps. RockAuto did not list any inners for the GP but they did for the Monte Carlo so I bought 2 of them those and they are the same one the GP uses. The Faichild part # for the inner is G204 and they come 1 in a package so you need to by 2 to do both sides.....

$327 dollars worth of wrecking yard treasures from an '81 El Camino.
Near fully complete AC dashboard with all the ducting and wiring harness to the firewall.

I will need an instrument cluster for it, I can use my glovebox cover, and the filler piece below the steering wheel.
Got the airbox also with a wiring harness. Will need to delete the ecm wiring as my '78 is non-computer. A bit of plumbing will be needed also, one piece is crushed and cut.

The donor had pulse wipers, so I took the wiper motor also, and the engine bay side of the wiring harness

Didn't take pic of engine bay harness.
One more exciting find, was that the car had a trailer hitch on a good rear bumper.

A starter. I’ve been having hot start problems. I can leave the car over night and it starts no problem. I drive for 15 min and I won’t be able to start it again. Get slow nasty sounding cranks and some smoke. Let it sit for 20 mins and it starts right up.

Have you checked your initial timing?

I just order the Moog 5409 from RockAuto. No one, including Moog, has that spring in Canada. I have the Moog 5413 now virtually new but the back end of the GP sits about an 1" higher than I like.....

Woo hoo!
After a nightmarish battle to get this brought across the border because the vendor wouldn’t ship to Canuckistan, (which coincidentally cost me about double the original purchase price) my AstroRoof headliner board from Highway Stars finally arrived today.

It’s an ABS plastic version which is the first I’ve ever seen in person, but also bound to be a lot better than the original that came out in about 8 pieces.

I’m excited to finally get my hands on it, but also kinda pissed to think that I paid nearly $500 landed for this flimsy piece of plastic.

I’m thinking there’s a serious economic disconnect here, we may be different countries but we’re still on the same damn landmass for cryin’ out loud.
😠
