More consistent than a single 3 port or 4 port Mac valve. A 3 port is limited to approximately double the spring pressure, a 4 port will do 4-8 times of the spring pressure easily but with less resolution. A 4 port works quite well most of the time if the hot side is well designed (mine isn’t - lol) .
Mostly though, I can’t build boost launching because of my poorly designed hot side, but CO2 based dome control will eliminate that problem.
And this is pretty cheap - about $220-240 between the two Mac valves, dome sensor and CO2 tank and regulator.
