What did you buy for your G body today? [2019]

I scored a really nice quality 3rd brake light assembly today from an awfully green Cutlass at a local pick n pull yard. I actually only needed the mounting bracket as I can't find mine, so figured I'd just grab the whole thing as a spare. My assembly is already painted black with the LED board installed.View attachment 121506View attachment 121507
Do you have the regular LED board for it that they sell for like 50 bucks?

My AC compressor has been making a horrific whooshing and whirring sound and emitting an unpleasant odor of the clutch burning off lately. It's pretty embarrassing sitting at a stop, but will clear out with a whack of the throttle. The compressor took a :poop: shortly after install, and has been dead since (locked up). I don't know why the clutch semi-engages because it's unplugged, but I do not need it seizing up and taking out the serpentine. So, I ordered a new one, and I'll leave it sealed until I get the rest of the system gathered. It'll just have to be an expensive idler pulley until I replace everything......AGAIN!

Today I reinstalled the intake manifold, carb and air filter. The JEGS debacle that got me to buy a 7111 instead of the 2711 I wanted has worried me since day one about being too tall for a GBody. It Fits! It is very, very snug however and there is no room for the hood blanket. I removed mine because it was a dusty mess and I did want this dropping on my engine. The hood closed but unless this is the smoothest engine in history, it will no doubt contact the hood. I'm going to look for a narrower air filter An inch would make a difference. While I was rejoicing, I buttoned up the engine, putting on the valve covers, and the pulleys. The next step will be to get the vacuum lines on, the fuel line to pump, and then to the carb, the alternator, and power steering brackets. It looks like my clutch fan may be too long to work...grrrrrrrr....2 steps forward and 1 step back, but even a little progress is progress. I'd be happier with the 2711 I wanted!
