This showed up on my doorstep today.

Had no idea who sent it

Then I got a text

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love parts that come out of boxes that look like that. Those parts were made when everything made sense.

'71 350 2 barrel motor. An hour away. Turns over good. Leaked pretty bad for a long time. Whole outside is caked. Got the front accessories, both manifolds, starter (need a new one for reasons), etc. Oh, and a free camshaft. It's rather tame, .439 lift, 252 advertised duration. Ground on a 110. It'd save me two hundred, and with this engine being low compression, a bigger cam won't really do all that much. Might use it, might get a crower level 2. Similar specs, more duration (280/281) more emphasis on the exhaust on a 112.

Basic plan right now (before inspection) is re-ring/bearing/gasket, cam and lifters, and jam it in to get mobile again. Dad got his Nissan sorted out, so I have at least the squirlley, bouncy, scary, front end nearly falling off, go-kart of a car known as a Saturn Ion to drive. It's something. Thinking that will be a winter project once the regal is back up in a month or so. Needs a new rear axle, strut assemblies, every rubber bushing, balljoints, etc. And it's only got 25,300 miles! Sitting will do that.

The new nylon retainer for the clutch pedal rod failed so I looked for the clip that was used on brake and clutch pedals from older cars. I stopped off at my friends restoration and speed shop and one of the guys had one in his tool box.....

I can buy them online for a few bucks but by the time they get here the price has quadrupled.....plus I get to fix it tomorrow and this one is reusable and won't fail.....:)

Did a R134 Retrofit this week. Unfortunately the Evaporator Inlet tube cracked at the end of the tube while installing a new orifice tube [ someone really buggered it up last AC Service\] . Thanks to Oreiilys as they sell a repair kit that worked really well and sealed on 1st attempt. Replaced the accumulator [ I know the hose routing looks a bit strange but it actually lays just on the top edge of the fan shroud and I will find a cool strap to mount it like the radiator hose . Evacuated , Oiled and recharged system and achieved 39 degrees at center duct on 85 degree day. Pretty darn good, we will see how it cools this coming summer at 110 + here in Arizona
>>>>>Oh yeah Thanks to you guys I rewired the Lost Plug that powers the pressure switch and high speed fan relay !!!!

A brand new set of 1-7/8" G-body 500 Cadillac long tube headers. My homemade 1-3/4" shorties served me well for engine startup and a couple hundred miles but they don't allow me to use my new QA1 upper control arms. And my upper ball joints are at a funky angle with the lo-buck Speedway arms.

Oh yea, some assembly required.
