What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

yeah, mine was starting to pit and look ratty. So I just gave it a good scrub with dish-soap and water, and cleaned a little with brake-clean. I didn't use primer either, just sprayed on the enamel.

This morning I started sanding my replacement burgandy hood. Clear, Base, Primer, Laquer, then primer. Lotsa layers to go thru.

I took the car over to the bodyshop last week and got an estimate of $400 to paint the hood and $750.00 to paint the front clip from the stripes up in base/clear. Another shop ( they do courier vans and taxis mostly ) quoted me $950.00 to scuff and spray the whole car in their stock white base clear if I pull all the glass & interior. Door Jambs are $400 more, to cut and polish the clear is $ 300 more
My car was painted in '96 with Acrylic over the orig laquer then touched up again a year or 2 later on the PS door ( they taped and sprayed over the stripes ). The enviromental laws here in Ontario have made getting a car painted an expensive process. 2 shops turned me down flat as they prefer only insurance jobs, I had another quote me $6800.00

For now I will be rocking a semi-gloss black hood on a white car until funds allow for a proper re-paint

Took mine for it's maiden voyage on the interstate......anything higher than 45mph I get a horrible vibration at the rear of the car. Sorta smoothed out over 60mph not alot but some. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Could be the pinion angle. What changes have you done to the rearend?

Haven't done much to the the rear end, just replaced shocks. Did have the driveshaft out of it while I was putting in the motor and transmission. The U joints looked a little crummy, actually a whole lot crummy where they connect to the rear end. I replaced those at the yoke but didn't replace the ones in the yoke of the drive shaft. Guess I'll be getting the jack stands out and heading to the parts house.

I had that problem too. Put some shims in the cross member and it was all fixed.
