My "brake" light was always on. Of course it's switch is buried about as far up under the dash/kick panel as humanly possible. At least it was fixable. The actuator got bent over and all I had to do was bend it back. So I saved a whopping $5 and spent a couple of hours twisting around and cursing the idiots that placed this thing where it is. :wtf:

What pedal assembly are you using, I have never seen a switch like that
Thats the parking brake switch...

Kwik, what the heck? did ya drop it?
My dad was driving it, stood on the gas and then we heard a little "click." so once we got where we were going it was cracked almost all the way around. When we pulled it out it finally broke. I'm thinking (and hoping) it was just a freak thing. My dad thinks its the cheap NAPA motor mounts but I'm not so sure.

dug out an old swap meet find from the attic of my garage and started to prep it. stripped off all the old paint and got it in primer. I should make it on my malibu at some point this summer

Easy fix:

Unless you were using solid mounts on all 3 points, I wouldn't blame them. You sure there wasn't an alignment dowel issue? Something get pinched between the engine and transmission?

Nope they aren't solid mounts. I don't think it was an alignment issue because when we pulled it out everything was in order and tight.

I'm baffled. That's something you typically only see in an offroad (4X4) or really serious drag car. I don't know whether to feel bad for you or congratulate you.

We were both stunned as well. And also, I'm not sure whether to be proud that my "very mild 383" broke the bellhousing, I to be upset that a freak thing happened that broke my bellhousing.

Hey now,

Dropped off new door handles and rear view mirrors with new cables to my friend the body man who has been working on some paint and body work. Car should be ready by this weekend with a new windshield as well, the installed aforementioned parts as well as fresh paint, wet sand and buff. I haven't driven it in a while so needless to say I am anxious to get it back.

install new Valve springs to overcome valve float
