Mark,
What sound deadening product are you using and is it 100% butyl or a mix?

Hey Jack,
Its Denim essentially. Seems like great stuff. bought it a couple years back, just been waiting to use it. Its made by a company called bonded logic. ITs fire retardant, mildew retardant etc. I bought it from Auto Parts Warehouse, but I dont remember what I paid for it but I felt it was very affordable. Here's a link to it on JC whitney

I bought a 24ft roll and did the floor pans, roof, sail panels and have enough left over to do the door panels. just have to figure out the door panels. it might be best to put it on door panels with foil facing window to shield it from water

heres where i got mine

That is a cool mix of stuff. They have been using recycled denim in houses now for years, cost more than fiberglass but has a better R value.

Thanks for the link! 😀

Thanks for the links, Mark.
I'm looking into all alternatives before making a decision and plunking down the cash. I assume it also has an adhesive backing..?
Recycled denim...that's interesting. I didn't realize that denim was also used for home insulation.

* I read again that you have to add your own contact cement.

yeah you have to use your own adhesive. i used the one they listed and its like 3m spray adhesive. I like using my own because in certain places i didnt want it to stick like up around the firewall. I wanted to be able to pull back for access etc. then for the seams I used their foil tape. Worked like a charm and wasnt too costly at all. I also used a small piece of it to shield some wires for the efi from header heat.

Yeah, it seems substantially less than your Dynamat type products. I also like the fact that you can eliminate gluing areas that you might need to access again. That's a good point.
You also mentioned possibly using it behind the door panels, but facing the foil side toward the door. If you look at the back of your door panels, they already seem to use a type of jute or shredded fabric for sound deadening.
I'm liking it a lot more. One concern would be sticking it to the roof, but with using a good 3M spray adhesive, that shouldn't be a concern.

Thanks for your feedback on the product, Mark. I appreciate it. How was it dealing with Auto Parts Warehouse?

like i said its been a couple of years now but if i recall it was seamless. i didnt have any issues.looking at my invoice i ordered it on 8/5/2012 and it shipped on 8/7/21012. somehow the section with prices ripped off the invoice lol i try to keep everything to build a spreadsheet of whats all in the car, both product and cost wise lol

Thanks man!
Did you use the foil tape to help butt together the material?

Yep every seam or where I cut to fit over a curve was sealed up with foil tape

Got the seat tracks and bucket back from getting powdercoated today. before and after picks, next is the passengers side
