Put my new sliding jack to good use today. No sooner that it arrived it was pressed into service. Pulled my center section out to replace spool with a Posi.

still waiting on my crate engine...

it hurts to see all of these lovely cars out in the warm weather this weekend. I saw a black Monte SS with the plate SSRULE...made me want to just go home and go to sleep lol.

on a bright note, my 200a alternator, new brackets, and new shifter linkage/bushing came in from Summit...

When I swapped in the new engine and transmission two weekends ago, I discovered that the 1-pc flexplate I had been hoarding was in fact damaged. Big ol' ding in it, probably from a pry bar. I use a flexplate tool, so I don't think I did it.

Replaced it with an SFI-approved,168-tooth 14" from Summit. Made in USA by Pioneer. Probably could have bought the regular one for half the price, but, this should be the last time I have to look at it for a while.

Ordered a Comp Cams cam, lifters, & valve springs on Friday from a local speed shop's 2- day sale. My stock cam had several wiped lobes & smoked lifters from a bad break- in when the motor was replaced (not by me lol, by PO. This is why he was selling the car.) Cam & lifters were not in stock, but valve springs were. Installed the springs yesterday.

Gave my baby a nice full 3 hour detail inside and out, fixed my l/s grill and reinstalled both of them. Cant wait to get my roof and trunk lid painted.

pulled it out of storage. Although disconnected since December the battery had enough juice to set off the alarm when I hooked it back up ( **** the horn next to the battery is loud !!! ). Gave it a boost and drove for an hour back home. At home in the driveway I tried to re-start and just a click was all it would give. Put the tester on it an it shows 12.3v but only 83 CCA so I guess I will be buying a battery tonight after work.

Nice to drive it again though.

On Sunday rolled the cutlass out of it's winter home , and yes battery was flat to be kind , Monday a few phone calls pricing batteries . Damn a good one is not cheap , after the 2 nd price of over $200 tax in ...I said to myself go nuts . Tuesday evening picked up a new Optium Red Top.
been thinking of getting one for a few years ..reading good & bad reports online about them.. I will see.

Will the beast come alive tonight after work ?

Batteries must be a southern Ontario thing.

Dave
