What did you do to your G-Body today?? I know there's a lot of us that do stuff to our cars on a daily basis. Lets see whos doing what. Ill start lol.

Today was a big day for my 84 cutlass. I just recently bought it. I can post pics tomorrow, but anyways. It came with 22s. I sold those today, and put on some Pontiac rally II wheels. Gonna paint them when I get a chance. I also got new studs, brake pads, tie rod end, and center link. Just random things that need to be done. Previous owner just wanted big wheels, but didn't do it the right way, oh and I am also lowering it this weekend.

Though I was supposed to be doing this all winter, with my health quirks I am FINALLY getting fired back up on my build project. Plus doing some more sound system work. Though I love Alpine speakers, I had already gone with JBL out back and in the dash because I think they are just as good and are cheaper but these Alpines have a directional tweeter and 2X the power handling capability of the 5.25 JBLs that are only 45W/per. I was going to go with JBL components and just put the tweeter up in the dash but you would not believe the amount of sound that comes out of these dinky 3.5" JBLs [below] I bought a while back just running off of the head power with below 300Hz blockers on them. I have [2] 100W/per amps to power it all in the trunk because I am anally symmetrical almost to a fault [truthfully it is also a tad easier to wire in some cases] and a single 300W 10" Rockford Fosgate sub in the trunk. I sold my Sony head for a RetroSound unit.

Same color but not my 442 door obviously . . . just the Gbodyparts pic.

Speaker p*rn . . .

These mount on the under side of the dash mounts to get them low enough so the tweeters clear the covers.

Going with the 4x10 to 6x9 hanger converters until I get tired of the slight sound loss and cut some 6x9 holes on the deck.

2X of these.

And though I won't be buzzing bumpers with what I listen to, I picked this sub because of its size and shape. As you all probably know, they face backwards intentionally and the angle on the backside of this looks like it was literally made for the Gbody rear seat along with fitting perfectly in that space too. Though I will screw it down, it fits so well, you really wouldn't have to. Otherwise, for what I listen to, 300W is probably overkill but it should add some nice ka-thump . . .

EDIT: Just FYI, these Gbodyparts door panels still say 5.25 speakers but can be modified to accept 6.5s. The 5.25s almost fall through the hole. I sent them back and got these . . . they fit absolutely perfectly! Since I preferred components anyway, this was a good problem. Just have to mount the tweeters in the angled part of the door panel above and slightly forward.

Last night's forecast said there was a moderate chance of snow today, but the sun came out anyway... so I spent a few minutes late in the morning pulling the shifter bracket off my 4L80E so I could reattach the cable in such a way that it won't keep falling off the trans. Once that was bolted together--literally--I decided to celebrate the sunshine by going for a pleasure drive before work. That felt so good, that once I came back home and got cleaned up, I went ahead and drove the car to work.

last november i took advantage of holley's christmas sale. i finally received the last of my ls motor swap parts from them. i ordered the motor mount plates, crossmember, oil pan and complete exhaust. now i can start planning my spring project.
