Well, yesterday I picked up a buddy of mine that I have known for over 30 years. Haven't seen him in a couple and he had not seen my car yet. So I looked at his 82 Camaro project coming along quite nicely and we went to gun show, got a burger and talked about the good old days. He said that thanks to me he is now thinking about a stick for his Camaro after riding in my El Co. We ain't getting younger guys. It was a great day

But it looks great
You'll figure it out

Probably; and if not I will just put a blower on it. I have to remind myself that I built a heavy "GT" car, and not a race car - but, it should be quicker and faster than this.

I have a reputation to uphold! 😉

Your header panel could probably be repaired with resin and fiberglass matting. I couldn't tell how bad it was.
I'm guessing header panels for that particular series Monte Carlo aren't too easy to come by.

SMC adhesive and filler is what should be used to repair it if it is the OE panel. Fiberglass could work, but does not generally hold up long term on SMC panels. U-pol Fiberal also works well as a filler and has the added benefit of fibers in the product to add a little strength

Can Am, I have not seen a real one in person since high school! One of my classmates mothers drove one, back when they were new.

Always thought they were the best looking example of the entire Colannade lineup.

Brian,
You've been in the business long enough to know what products work and which ones will work better.

Well this is embarrassing... the car has developed a serious issue with the tune - went super lean up top. It may be a physical (fuel pump is weak) or electrical (bricked ECM). I have some serious trouble shooting to do.

Don't mind the 60' times the track was slick, and I didn't do a burnout to warm the Drag Radials. Just rolled into the beams, took the slack out of the drivetrain, matted it, pedaled it, rolled back into it. There is definitely a 12 in it, but we are waaaaaay off from where I think it should be.

I was up until 3AM reading your build thread over at the LS1 forum. Ripping yarn - mega kudos for all the hard work, creativity and attention to detail!

Is there any chance your problem with running lean at the top end was from the fuel pump starving due to slosh? Did you see the WBO2 reflect the lean condition or were you kinda busy when it happened? ;-)

Best of luck figuring it out - I'm sure you will - Gary

It's a great day! It goes from a bare shell to a primed shell. From here, it really is all going forward, giving to the car, rather than stripping or taking the car apart. It's a big milestone.

You are right about that. I have been smiling like the cheshire cat since he made the pass, even better is he is excited to get working on it too.

Nothing to mine but I looked at a wagon for a member on here maybe he will show you the pictures I sent him it will be a nice car for what he wants it for and I think it's worth shipping down 95 in fact anyone know of a cheep way to ship a Malibu wagon from Jersey to Florida? It's just 195 to 95 South
