What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

Thats what I did. If it is the gasket that is leaking and not a hose I think I have a metal one around or can source one.

I had the same issue. I couldn't get the cast iron housing to seal to the aluminum manifold. After numerous failed attempts, I replaced the seal with an aftermarket extra thick rubber seal that is re-useable. It was my only option as it was late on a Sunday and I needed the car for the next morning.

No sealant is necessary and it's a touch on the pricey side at close to $20. But I'll never need another. But bear in mind, this was for a 350 SBC. I don't know if it is available for a Buick. I want to say it was made by either Mr. Gasket or Fel-Pro. It was in the "hot rod" aisle where all the chrome and high zoot aftermarket parts and gauges are at Autozone.

The silver and orange one is a Mr Gasket the blue and red one is a FelPro
 
It could be that since the aluminum and cast iron have different rates of expansion/contraction they are old and won't play nice anymore. Once I went to cast iron housing on cast iron manifold all leaks stopped. Or maybe it's just that the iron is much stiffer. Either way I ordered a few more cast iron ones for when my others act up.

It started squealing as I pulled in my driveway after work. It was spurting out more coolant before I got my phone ready.
So far, no more leaks. After f*cking around for 3 hours getting 4 different hoses, I ended up going with the one I had in mind since I put this engine in, one from a '70 Skylark. 20577. joe, take note.

I ended up going with the one I had in mind since I put this engine in, one from a '70 Skylark. 20577.
I tried the gates, didn't fit. The E70775 dosn't look like it will fit either, same with the continental. The 70775 don't exist. The "E" variant does, though. But again it doesn't look like it will fit. This was the hardest part of this swap tbh. You can't look at hoses anymore, and when you go the guy just looks at you like you're stupid. I had one guy flat out refuse to get a hose from the back that looked like the hose I brought in. It wouldn't show up on the computer for my '70 thunderbird, but as soon as he hit enter on a '70 Galaxie, he was all about it. I have an engine in a car that was never designed to have one (afaik even the 78-80 regals never got it), with a shroud from a 307 car, in a car that had a V6 originally. And before you ask, no. I tired the V6 hose a long time ago, the water neck is more close to vertical than the 350 neck, plus it's too small.
The 20577 number is an Oreilly's part number, but I got it at Autozone, E70548.

This is the hose:

If you're standing by the driver's door looking at the radiator hose, this is how it's oriented. Far right bend is the water neck, other is the rad. It had to be just so in nearly every dimension to not
A) Hit the fan
B) Get smashed by the hood
C) Touch the Distributor
It's annoying, but this hose will work for my purposes. It's for a non GS (aka non Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner) '70 4 Barrel Skylark with a 5.7. I always go 4 barrel for parts, because that's what I have, but the hoses are the same. Or should be.

Glad you figured this out so I don't have to :mrgreen: I hate universal rad hoses. What are you doing for your lower rad hose?
