What did you do to your G-Body today? [2019]

Not much progress on this end. After fighting with the 80E last weekend I realized last Sunday my shoulder didn't feel so well, so kinda slacked off this week. I did get the converter bolts in and torqued, and realized I'm a dumbass and forgot to put the dipstick in the trans before so now it's being a PITA.

I also learned that my Hurst Vmatic 2 WON'T WORK with the 80E. I thought it would, but was reading directions for the new Vmatic 3 version!!!! That being said, the shifter will be for sale as soon as it's removed which will now suck more because trans is in the car. Now to decide on a new shifter that will look at home in the Monte console....any ideas are appreciated.

With the 3.8 2-bbl? I wish! 🤣
hot soapy water goes a long way...
i guess so does going backwards at 30mph and slamming it in 1st...

I took apart the HEI distributor that came with my Buick 350, cleaned it and put it back together. The coil that came on it is junk, and I swear I had a good one laying around but I can't seem to find it. I may end up just buying a new distributor from TA performance since they sell a complete one for only $100, but at least I have this one around as a useable spare anyways.
I ended up buying one for both my motors. All the parts to rebuild an HEI ends up being more expensive than TA's shiny new ones. All they need is the springs changed to bring the timing in sooner and they're great. Also the advance canisters put a lil too much advance in, so I bought a crane adjustable one (TA is adjustable too, but crane lets you adjust how much and the rate, ta is only the rate) and put that in.

Stopped putting it off and put a heat riser hose on along with a cleaned up elbow I had lying around for the air cleaner side. I still need to get a new vacuum actuator and temp valve thing to have a fully functional Thermac system. In summer I'll be running a standard chrome dealy with a breather. at shows I put it back on. My goal was to have it appear like it came in the car, and I'd say I've pretty much accomplished that.

Took it off the trailer finally after racing last weekend. Took it to a calm street with hardly any traffic and did a proper bedding in of my brake pads. 5-6 60 to 5 mph hard stops and they feel much better. They are still the metric calipers but running stoptech pads. They make a difference on a budget. Then stopped at a new wharehouse for a photo op. Nothing old in
my area for a good background.

Whatever you do, never paint it. Looks too cool as is. Maybe sticker it up in a few spots... but it looks badass man.

Thanks. It amazing how much attention it gets at goodguys events. I’m always parked next to show quality cars that are much faster than me on the autocross but more people look at my car. I enjoy it. Eventually I want to paint it but nothing flashy. Probably in another 5-10 years after all the performance is good
