Does that allow the map lights to still work when the doors are closed via the buttons on the lights?I tap mine into the dome harness where it runs up the A pillar

I got a can of burgundy SEM Color Coat to touch up the top of the back seat in my Regal. I sprayed a test piece and the color is a pretty close match, maybe a smidge on the light side, but pretty damn close.

Wire it in to constant. The map lights don't normally come on with the door unless it's a convertible.Does that allow the map lights to still work when the doors are closed via the buttons on the lights?
I think these lights have extra wiring IIRC which allows you to tap in to the courtesy light circuit while retaining the ability to switch it on and off with a separate constant wire.Wire it in to constant. The map lights don't normally come on with the door unless it's a convertible.
Yeah, the plug on the mirror has 5 wires coming from it. From a quick search it looks like it's tied to the courtesy lights. I found another Impala that was a base model. The harness on that mirror only had 2 wires being orange and black. I snipped that harness too that way I have choices.I think these lights have extra wiring IIRC which allows you to tap in to the courtesy light circuit while retaining the ability to switch it on and off with a separate constant wire.
That's a great idea! I usually walk by that section in the yard with a " nothing to see here" attitude but that would be a sweet upgrade to a T-top car. While scouring the junkyard I came across a 2003 Impala that had a decent looking map light mirror. After further searching, I removed a nice one and have it mounted temporarily in the Cutlass. It looks right, just need to determine how to wire it in...thinking of tying it into the dome light harness. View attachment 104683View attachment 104684
