These days I can have a beard, ear rings, weed, tattoos (on everything except my face and scalp), and a pony tail... but, I'll be damned if the Army won't give me back my luscious locks. I really want my hockey hair back... I miss my flow.

The oil pressure will tell you if it's a bearing. If it's piston slap, it'll get worse with heavier oil- my 6.0 in my truck did anyway. They seem to be happiest with 5W-30.

The oil pressure only dropped when I went from 5W-50 to whatever 30-weight is in there now. It is obviously thinner, but the pressure climbs fast under load. That still doesn't explain non-ferrous the glitter in the month old oil I took out - unless one of the rocker bushings is dead (which would explain the noise). But, then I have to pull even more crap apart.

And the cut-outs open.

Whatever noise is there, is still there. I've got another month or two of good driving left before Winter - I'll decide what to do then, if a decision isn't made for me before that time.

I was out in the car for a bit last night to prove my fuel rail repair and ran the car up to redline a few times, and its still running. Launched it off the light headed onto the highway this morning too... again - no issues. Other than putting a lot of distance between me an all the cars stacked up behind me at the intersection.

Enjoy your CUV, Sir... Ma'am... or whatever you identify as.

In a world full of crossovers, be a wagon
(need to get a window sticker of that)

My bet is its not a rod knock, probably a lifter going out or something valvetrain.

The BTR SLR lifters are known for having a few isolated failures (usually catastrophic) - but, if that were the case there would be more material on the magnetic drain plug. Which is why I am leaning toward a rocker bushing going away - if that is the case then the noise could be in the block (near the cam). Or it is a wrist pin.

Haha, all in good fun. I would thrash on a wagon if I ever have the time, room, money for one!

In the meantime just make sure you have the rev limiter turned way up in your car... you'll thank me later.

Yeah he does. I just finished reading the manual from the painless harness that was installed. Looks like everything is wired correctly on the new harness. Stopped by the house for a few, gonna give the wires a quick once over to see if anything stands out to me.
