I built 2 of them like that. Nodular cases and mid plates and 2.88 first gear. I figured if I was going to replace the Saginaw it would be with something similarly gear ratios but way stronger and I didn't want to cut the car to do it. The down side is a factory 79 A body Hurst shifter was sacrificed to do it.That ST10 with the cast iron case and 5 rings is a rare transmission...and it's nicely geared
