Decent but damp day. The sun peaked its head out So I went outside

Played with the timing. Found it's sweet spot!!

Hooked up the vacuum ball so my HVAC controls now work again!!!!!

Changed the speedo cable. No more hamster wheel squeak!!!!!

And of course took it for a test run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered some bits... Put my door panel back together.

Went to my sister's to hunt for the engine lifting chains to no avail...not sure where they walked too! I might just go get an engine leveler thingamajig

I have one of those (I got it free) f'in thing is useless unless you have the intake off. Chains are too short and the brackets suck at all 4 corners.

I DO have one at work that they no longer make, works like a champ if there are lift brackets on the engine. It's sort of like a chain fall, but has a hook on each end of the chain and it adjusts with a ratchet to change the center point of the load

When I wasn't giving all of you my "expertise", I did this

IMG_20190106_200855_136[1].jpg

Set the engine/trans in, changed all the steering to the new stuff off of the donor car, swapped the upper arms for the donor car pieces (all new bushings/ball joints, I added urethane bumpstops).

Installed a crane adjustable vacuum advance kit. lets you adjust the rate and how much vacuum advance. The can that came with the TA HEI just let you adjust the rate. Dropped off a spare downpipe to get the AFR gauge O2 bung welded on (don't have a welder, no do I know anyone close with one, let alone someone good at it), TurboZach offered next go around. It snowed 5 inches Saturday, so I'm glad I did that stuff on Friday. If the snow is gone by next weekend I might put the gforce cross member in with the new mount I got. Maybe. Also found it was weak/bent springs (I guess I f*cked em up on install last time I messed with the dizzy or something...) that was causing the timing to stick after a drive, which explains my issue in my "Idle Issue" thread, for now. I may still have a vacuum leak, the afr gauge will help me track that down. Vacuum is a pretty steady 16.5" with my cam, so it's not really noticeable if I do have one.

In a effort to burn all the gas out of the tank to change my fuel level sending unit, I drove it 110 miles round trip to Gainesville for a cars and coffee. While it made it there and back home perfectly, sadly i still have gas in the tank to add to the weight when i go to pull the tank.

Looks like you should drive some more and empty the tank. Or do some burnouts, those always help!!!
