Pictures? Build thread? Hellwig kit? Home crafted?I am knee deep with reinforcing my frame. I've boxed it and have welded in rear upper and lower control arm reinforcements. I'm getting very close to painting and have been experimenting with coatings.
I painted a small section with a product called Mastercoat a few days ago, and attempted to destroy it today... unsuccessfully.
I initially scratched at it with my finger, and then the tip of a screw driver. It held up. I fired up the pressure washer and tried to blow it off, point blank. No dice. Lastly, I soaked a rag in acetone and attempted to rub through the coating and it didn't soften at all.
I think at this point I'm sold, and hope to get the remainder of the frame prepped and painted this weekend.
I bet that is tormenting your OTC? Keep plugging away when you can. You need to drive this car.I played bash the header tube! Still have a little more, but the kids are in bed and I'm sure the neighbors wouldn't like me hammering on metal at this hour. I did trim the lower control arm mount down to help...already touched up he paint on it.
Also got the starter wiring routed, but I've gotta do a shred event in the morning so it's time to shut the shop down.View attachment 113257
Yep, for sure! Work has been nuts...usually 50hrs/week so I have to make time for family, house stuff, cutty time, etc. I'm not gonna give lame *ss excuses on why I can't work on the car, just gotta lay in there and get it! (Oops wrong thread).I bet that is tormenting your OTC? Keep plugging away when you can. You need to drive this car.
