I got the wiring and ecu tucked away behind the kick panel, cleaned up the interior and took the GP for a rip to the car wash about 20 minutes away. It ran good but it's looking for a bit more timing so I have to see what I'm doing wrong with set up. Brakes are better but still not the way I'd like them. The Delphi 600 steering box is working perfect. I had removed the box last year thinking it had a problem but the problem turned out to be broken plastic bits in the new pump I had installed. Not too happy with the 5413 rear springs, the GP is sitting about 1" higher than I want. Sure was fun to drive the GP though..... :)

For getting the grain back on a repaired plastic part, you generally spray the whole damn thing with textured coating.

So, why an I posting a picture of a wood door I had to work on staining & clearcoating both days this weekend on a g-body thread.??? Because you have dry time between coats & I ain't doing any more company work on the weekend. Bought my bedcover in to my little paint shop & started bodyworking the new perimeter & spoiler I made on it earlier this year. Also had several bubbles in finish I did 12 years ago, think it was from solvent entrapment painting in cold weather, so cleaned all those spots up & blocking down entire surfaces.

Cleaned the other side of the MIL's spare garage and parked the wagon. Cutlass has been in here for the last year or so. Ran both through the car wash, made sure the antifreeze was to strength, unhooked the batteries and said good night for the winter.

Just finished another round of sanding with 80 and 180 after a thin layer was added last night. I'm feeling more confident about the repair turning out acceptable now. Gotta get the grain look back though....I have an idea on that. View attachment 126231 View attachment 126232

That’s coming out exceptionally well.

Here is a pretty helpful video on how to re-texture the dash.

So this guy puts hot glue on a dent pulling tab and places it on a surface with the texture he wants to replicate. He uses an agent (303) on the surface so the hot glue doesn’t stick to the surface (dashboard). After placing the tab on the dash he lets it dry/cool and BAM! instant texture stamp.

He said it’s best to stamp the filler when it’s almost dry. You can also stamp the paint.

There are links to all the products in the description.

Got my third brake light completely wrapped up and mounted, man that was a pain. I better never have to take it off is all I will say. Then moved onto the reverse switch mounting, got it in place and drilled the holes. Just have to wait until Thursday for a buddy to weld the nuts on for me and wire her up, then back together time

Went to a U-pull yard yesterday. Didn't find what I was looking for but grabbed 1 Jeep and 2 Astro van steering shafts. Got the Astro shafts clocked and all 3 painted today. Will have them posted with pictures in the for sale section once the paint dries.
