What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

I worked on the handheld for the Fast system. I was right about the wire being pulled and got the bottom pat of the screen off but I'm not sure what holder the top part of the screen and since I git the wires in a location where the handheld works I put a little hot glue to keep the wire in place. I didn't want to take a chance of breaking or damaging the screen so I'll leave it for now and send the handheld in for repairs next winter. Fast should have secured the wires so they could no be pulled by accident. I'm glad it's good to go now.... 🙂

Victor,
Fill us in, bro. It looks killer from the rear. More pics please...👍😎

I posted couple more pics to my thread. Mods were kind enough to re-open for me 🙂 As soon as I get more I will post asap. Still need to do fenders, bumpers and cut/buff. Hopefully done soon.

I cleaned up the balancer so I could see the timing marks. I set the timing curve set up in the MSD box to 0 and set the timing to 24°. Set up a new timing curve and the vacuum curve and it runs great idlying and reving up to about 5k but on the way home I think I messed up. The way I was thinking was 24° and the 10° gives me total of 34° but the vacuum timing is based on the MAP sensor reading so that won't have any effect at highway speeds so I guess tomorrow I'll do it again and set the timing to 34°. I don't set the timing any higher as I do not have an EGR valve. It's going to be interesting trying the GP out with the laptop connected to the MSD box to see what the engine is doing...

one of the screens is like this telling you the live timing and MAP

If the hot glue works, make it permanent with epoxy.

Moved over to the passenger side and tried to install the even numbered spark plugs. Found that I could get Number Six in, but not screwed down tight. Header pipe is right there and totally shrouds any open or decent access to the plug. I am using AC-Delco R45TS plugs and am now wondering if Delco makes a shorty version of the 45. I know they can be had in Champion and Accel but for just one plug I would have to buy a whole set. That sucks.

Anyone on the site been here done that??

Oh, about those catguts, being that palladium and platinum get used in the mfgr of exhaust cats you might want to see if you can get some do-re-mi for the corpsiclets. (bits and pieces of the corpse)

You should be able to crank it up around 40-45 in the low load areas. That's where my trucks are and they don't seem to mind. Do you have a knock sensor setup with that?
