What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

I cleaned the GP up and I cannot decide what color or finish I want so I sealed the areas I did body work and covered that with black primer. I adjusted the stop for my clutch pedal by a couple of threads to let the pedal drop a little further. It was too close and now it feels better and the gears slide in easier. My insurance broker's office is closed but I have contacted them about throwing insurance on the GP, I just have fire and theft on it now. Hopefully I'll get some good news tomorrow...

Why the dislike? I will admit it's very hard to capture how it sounds on video.

It's a jegs kit and I don't have a sbc so the pipes fit weird and I didn't have any room for mufflers. But now that I have a welder I have much more freedom in how the exhaust can be routed.

do you have any respect for your neighbors?

Nah
Tweaker fights, kids that literally do nothing but run in circles and scream at the top of their lungs, closest neighbour comes outside every time I am and has the world's loudest phone convo, as well as sit in his car and blare mediocre 90s hip hop, one has a retriever that never shuts the **** up and she screams at it, house to the right (facing my house) is abandoned and the "owners" feel the need to weed whack and mow at 8am every 2 days, old guy cattywampus does the same, guy next to him has a gt500 way louder than my car. Not to mention the Normandy beach esque barrage of fireworks that has been going on since late April.

So I have a loud car. I coast in the driveway coming home at 6am a few days a week. I never rip around my block, nor do i blare music at all. I always cease outdoor activity by 10pm (noise ordinance), and never start loud car work (grinding, welding, etc) until 10am at the earliest. Sue me. 🙂

Made my dump run this morning. I have been having an occasional issue with restarting the car when it is hot. In line at the dump, I ran the battery down low trying to restart it, and had to push start (in reverse because I was facing uphill) to get going again. When shifting into reverse to start it, the shifter shaft broke. Fortunately I have a rag in the cab for checking oil and things, so I used it to cushion the jagged edges and made it home after dumping all of my junk. The break was at a weld I did some months ago. My welding experience is minimal, but I get practice on my shift handle. I took care of that, and added reinforcing to hopefully prevent future breakage.

I have this same problem with restarting once its hot and been driven a while. I think its heat soak to the starter causing it to have a hard time starting the engine. Ive read about getting a mini starter so that its farther away from the exhaust is the solution. Its on the list but not very close to the top right now. Let us know what you figure out.
