I dun fugged up, again.
Went to try to stab in the S10 ZR2 driveshaft, and realized something was off with the yokes.

Turns out the ZR2 driveshaft (left) was behind a 5 speed, and not a 700r4. :wax:
I think both the g body driveshaft and S10 one use the same 3R u joint, so I’m going to pound one out and see.
Turns out they do use the same u joint and I’ve even got a spare one on the shelf

Finally found out what the Malibu's original Color was while I was sanding down the Tail light extension on the Driver Side.

Under the Metallic Green that a previous owner put on to it is the 1981 Chevy Malibu Code 35 "Cream". Now when I get to taking things off priming and sanding more she will get Dupli-Color Universal Black as the next paint to go on top.

Last day off for the week and here's what I have and have not accomplished so far

Put on this Rustoleum Primer on the Driver door pretty close to last night before it got too dark when it was a tad bit cooler out.

This morning I took out the Headlight Bezels and the Grille, I also Cleaned the Grille with a Brillo Pad.

Chevrolet Emblem came off the Grille too and I painted it with a can of the black I still had alittle bit left in it. I am going to be using Mineral Spirits and a Cotton Swab to bring back the Chrome color. I have done something similar on Model Cars where as I wanted some black in the background and remove the spray with above combo to bring the out the Chrome.

While I was at it I took the Emblem off (Lays Flat on the top), but as you can see I will need to buy a new one to replace it. I can't find any online. Maybe someone in the community knows where I can get one of those red ones I have seen.

As it turns out Rustoleum Primer then applying Dupli-Color Primer over top doesn't mix well. I had to scrape off the coats I put on that didn't dry very well. To fix this I am going to let the door dry for a couple of days then go back to sanding it down and putting on more of the Dupli-Color Primer. Still having to use alot of Filler Primer to fill in holes.

As a Test I put on what was left of the black in that can I used for the Chevrolet Emblem to test spray on the panels I have reprimed and sanded. Looks like it'll be awesome! But I am going to have to grab 1000 grit to get rid of the scratch marks still on the primer as i feared it would show up through the paint. So it's 320 - 600 - then 1000 Grits that should smooth out the primer scratches. And by the way I know the primer shown here is alittle red but it was the only one that Napa had left on hand: 2 primer brown cap, one Grey Cap is what I bought today. This car will also need alot more primer than I initially thought that it might. I am only guessing but the I do believe the previous owner I bought the car from just threw on one coat of primer on top of the Metallic Green coat that was on it.

The base (flat) Malibu header ornament for 80-83 is not reproduced. The stand-up version is and there are a lot of NOS floating around, but the flat one is pretty much made of unobtanium these days. I have 2 base 81 Malibus, and 1 spare ornament, and they all suck.

I didn't get a chance to take the GP on a run. I noticed the tension pulley was wobbling a bit so the bearings are shot. It's not making a noise but I have burnt a belt when the pulley had seized...and the valves are making a bit too much noise even for a roller cam so I'll adjust the valves before I take her out. Should have it all done tomorrow....

I got to parting out my parts car. I have 2 weeks to have it stripped so my sister can get her driveway graveled.

I broke the windshield within 5 mins of pulling it out. I dont know how I got the windshield out my car without breaking it. Im getting the drivetrain,f41 bars, dash, exhaust, floor shift linkage and all the ac stuff for sure. Ill probably take the wiring harness since its never been reengineered.

Are the upper sail panels still in that?
