Got my new bluetooth module stuffed back into my new Delco radio. Still have to stuff it in the car to test it, since I don't have a complete set of pigtails for that style of radio.
Luckily, most delco radios have separate tuner and amplifier boards, so there will always be a cable that runs between them that has line level audio. With the help of a factory service manual, I found the correct wires and cut the L and R audio wires to the amplifier board. I then ran leads out from both sides of the cut wire out to a set of relays to switch the audio stream from the tuner board in the radio to the Bluetooth module.
I can add an Aux In through the Bluetooth board later if I want, but since my phone doesn't even have a headphone jack, it will probably not be messed with. There will probably be level matching issues since the Bluetooth board's audio is a little hotter than the tuner board, but I can add some resistors inline to balance it out, but in the short term I will just turn the phone volume down.

I used the power pushbutton and a set of relays to switch the audio line. I wired the radio to always be on when the key was on, and used the 12v off the switch to fire the relays. You can get away with one DPDT relay, but I used 2 SPDT relays since that was all I had on hand. That's really cool! Since you are splicing the audio wire how do you switch from radio to bluetooth?
Is it just a standard bluetooth board for like Arduino?
I have a eq. Delco radio that the display doesn't work on and I need to take it apart and troubleshoot and while I'm in there I'd like to add that board
