What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

Had intentions of installing the wheel spacers and wiper motor that I got yesterday at the wrecking yard. Put the rear spacers on first. I like the look.

Didn't realize that I already had aluminum brake drums in back until this morning. Now with an extra 1-1/4" clearance between the tires and the frame, I can buy tire chains to carry if I need them, though I usually take the FWD Taurus if I expect any snow.
Before installing the spacers on the front, I wanted to pull the inner well to access the lower bolt on the wiper motor. While loosening the inner fender well, I noticed that the bracket holding the Z-bar was broken, and was the cause of what I thought was a needed clutch adjustment. I have some steel, but no way to bend it. To remedy the problem, I cut 3 pieces, drilled, bolted, and welded them together to homebrew a bracket. Ugly, but it should last forever.

After finishing this, I continued with the wiper motor swap. Motor works, and now I have delay wipers. WooHoo!!

Put wheel cylinders in my 1983 Olds Cutlass, brake fluid leak.Came out of the right rear brake, pulled the drum and found the wheel cylinder was leaking.I like replacing wheel cylinders in pairs doing it right the first time.A pain in the butt although I have the special tool to get them out

Beer happens whether it's a celebration or not. I slapped valve cover gaskets in mine. It looks good and low mileage in there. It also appears this motor didn't want to hold a valve adjustment at one point. Knowing my dad, these have between 1/4-1/2 turn on them. I don't hear a lick of valve train noise so I didn't touch them.

Yesterday I painted up my stock truck throttle body and ordered an adapter to mount it to the intake. I'm sick of the stupid howl, and want the weird idle stuff gone!

The adapter showed up today, so I quickly got everything put back together. Whattya know, no more whistle!!!!!! I shut the car off and restarted which would normally make it howl worse, but nope...no whistle! I need to clear the codes and drive it, but it's kinda sleeting and I'm def not going driving! Video....

Ignored it in favor of getting the 700R4 paint work done. Once that is complete I can bring the floor jack up and reset the jack stands to give me enough room to be able to slither under the Monte again and return to fitting the exhaust system back together. I still have some finish work on the insides of the collector/reducers/adaptors to do to complete their inner seams. With that done, maybe a picture or two for the album and then they can get fitted into position so I can lay the rest of the piping back in. The mufflers still need to get their tubes clipped, or possibly not, as part of the fitting routine The biggest pain in the patoot is getting everything to stay put while I am fiddling with it. Having a pipe fall out of the overhead while wrestling with it at some point along the line is patience trying.
