What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2020]

I should have posted this on Friday. I drove mine 7 days in a row. It's been about a year and a half since I did that.

Got this photo after work on Wednesday. MY truck and "my" truck. 2016 Peterbilt 567, 8 axle dumptruck and pup trailer, and 1978 GMC Caballero. Love them both!!

Started running fuel line. Ran the hard line through the front frame.

Found if I ran a metal fish from the front to the back ( out that little f'n hole in the frame ). I could put the fish through my hard line and hook it to the far end of the pipe. I could then pull the pipe through without risking loosing it from the pipe.

Finished hard line to the rear and hooked up the tank. Check for leaks tommorow.
I like your idea of running your fish line THROUGH the fuel line, instead of taping it to the line. Tape could have been rubbed off, but going through the line ensures that it will arrive to where you wanted it.

Haven't had time to work on the El Camino in awhile, but since my university is closed because of Corona cases on campus I took advantage of the nice day today to give the car some much needed love.

I had trouble getting my car to pass emissions last summer because I had a spark plug that wasn't firing because it was soaked in oil and gunk. Decided to try to prevent that from happening again any time soon.

Started out by seafoaming the sh*t out of the intake via the PCV while the car was running. Removed all the spark plugs, cleaned and sanded them and made sure they were correctly gapped. Did an oil change too.

I ordered a cheap oil catch can off amazon for like $35 and installed that in-line between the PCV and the intake. Mounted it on a little stub sticking up from the drivers side wheel cover that seemingly had no other purpose to me haha. Fit very nice. I'll check back in after some time driving to see if it'll collect a decent amount of gunk.

Meh, I fired mine up for the first time since december. Took some cranking and some pumpage but it fired. Still the most reliable rig in my driveway IMO.

Smeagol says maybe tomorrow we takes it to gets some fresh fuels then takes it to works and makes some 11's. My precious !!

Actually did get some prep work done on the console to get it to fit correctly in its adjusted position. Just a bit of trimming with the old reliable Dremel tool and a micro-cutoff wheel driven at a lower speed to avoid plastic meltdown. A little bit of work with a rasp to smooth the edges and shape the curves more cleanly and back in it went and back out it came to re-re-re-re-lengthen the new mounting slots. I will have to shorten them up a little once I am happy with the final fit. It now seems to ride the tunnel in a correct position with respect to the cover that sits on the pocket for the shifter.

That pocket for its part, got a second coat of Rust Check anti-rust paint. Left it in the shop to tack up a bit and then brought it into the house to dry out completely; the shop is just still too cold for painting. Sorry, no pictures; shooting paint while it drys is about as interesting as pictures of grass while it grows.

I'll post a could pics in few.
today specifically i finished sort of re-doing the fuel system and started wiring the AEM wide band O2.
During the last week I i basically rewired everything in the car that wasn't light related. I' made the relay panel and wired most of it up, just need to finish the fan connections up front. I need to order some nice wire loom and clean and organize all the new wiring. i need to find a solution for the filter as the K-n-n with the filter lid does not fit under the hood. The stud actually dented my hood when I closed it last night. I really don't want a cowl hood as there is only one in particular that i like but when I switch back to EFI I wont need the cowl anymore.

Love your color scheme there, especially the way the lower blue goes up where the wheel well molding was deleted. Corvette Rally Wheels sets it all off nicely as well. I hope to get mine looking as good someday.
