Broke it... Hard accel onto the highway and about midway up the ramp. TAP TAP TAP coming from the engine... Revolutionary tap tap tap...

Limped it home, pulled valve covers to see if I had a rocker walk, or a bent pushrod... Nothing visually out of place, too hot currently to touch anything... Just wiggling the rockers I think I lost a couple finger prints.

It sounds valve train related but it's currently too hot to touch and I got a full night without messing with it... Guess I know what I'm doing this week sometime. Trying to run this motor until I gathered all the LS swap parts I needed and rebuild the LS motor, then get started swapping so I had the least amount of down time.

I plumbed the coolant bypass hose front to back.I've read it can make a difference with some set ups,the rear ports are there so maybe it'll help with the hot spots in the rear cylinders.

Cleaned my bish up yesterday morning for an 80/90's car show, was actually very few cars because of the crazy heat here. But turned out almost like a G Body show since there was probably 15 or so cars, I would say over half were different Gbodys. After the show take my buddys girl for a ride since she had been begging to take it out, drop her off at the hospital to see her mom and we go grab some food. Come out from the restaurant started up and drove away. Come to a light sat for a while then get like 500 feet and it stalls n dies. Won't kick over, hook up the jump pack, no luck still. Then use jumper cables from the buddies truck, still no go. Then at times go to turn over and nothing would happen at all, everything dead and out. Then struggles and won't start again, then one time just clicks. Then totally dead again, let it sit a bit and talk to the cop for a minute and say I'll give it one more try before pushing it off the road. Fires up and goes most of the way home from Monroeville and then struggles once or twice but doesn't stall get her home and throw it in the garage very disgusted. Seems to be different each time this happens which is really weird, anywho the only 2 pics I got from the show. Was hoping to get more pics but the ginger in me kept me in the shade so I didn't immediately burst into a ball of flames.

Not exactly today... but less than 24hrs ago for sure... moved some office furniture yesterday in order to inspect the 1983 issued carpet... yick!

Ill put in a good plug for some fabbing videos. "Fitzee's" garage on youtube has some remarkable work being accomplished. Once ya get past the strong Newfanese accent, ya won't be able to give his vids the fick bye...

My finger is pointing at a line i'll use to fit new floor pan in. R.

My current high pressure fuel pump is mounted inside the frame rail under the bucket seat bracketry... since it is "technically" lower than the tank...

The new high pressure pump is a "evil energy" 255lph in-tank pump and is going into a new spectra tank. There are some not so stellar reviews on these tanks' filler necks, so ill dip my phone into 2 different tanks i have layin' around and see if there is something going on where the fill neck joins to the tank... if the fill neck is the " slow fill" culprit, ill post a pic of it. I bought a n/a fuel tank in Kingston a few weeks back, so if the "neck" is to blame, i'll have 1 extra filler neck for someone doing a similar swap.

I managed to dimple the bottom of my curent fuel tank during a move from the "Pontiac" during last year's covid shutdown... dragged the old girl up to my camp in Timmins to chill for a bit, then booked 'er to the Kootenays for another load of stuff to bring home(brockville). Ennaweh, keep on plugging away folksies. R.

I've seen lately a few guys are removing the neck that is installed on the new tanks and swapping the original neck they had onto the new tank to eliminate the venting issues. That was also gonna be my plan when my time for the LS swap comes... Which may end up getting moved up on the list of things now.

I've had no issues with the GN tank I put in my Cutlass/LS swap. I also have a vent in the modified fuel hat I made for the pumps.
