My blend door cable broke and so I figured I’d do some work in the dash today. I pulled apart the AC controls and added the nut and bolt to the vacuum selector and sure enough, for the first time since I’ve owned it, the air blew through the vents instead of just the defrost. I helped my uncle put a new rear end in his 64 Impala and he gave me some tail lights that are in better shape than the ones I have now. Productive day for sure. Attached are photos for reference in case anyone else is looking to do this. The bolt I got was an M8 and it was about 1/2 inch long with a locking nut. My setup is a little different than the one I saw on YouTube that showed how to do the swap. I had to find a bolt with a flatter head and that had a lip on it already. A regular bolt and washer wouldn’t have fit.

I'm debating what to do with wheels & where to spend money, so rather than put new wheels & tires on now, I might do something cool with the steel wheels. I rough taped, then sprayed a wheel in gold, then in bronze to see what I like. The gold is too bright & the bronze is too dark. Maybe something in the middle. I'll test one or two more w/ whatever I can find in rattle cans. If I find something I'll like I'll powder coat these at work & run with this for a while.

My father in law looked at another one for me 1987 Regal Base. Its a 2 owner car local to my hometown. Its got some weird options according to the SPID. 305, 2004R, CRANK windows 2:73' and A/C... that supposedly works.
Also runs like a top and isn't rotten? It can't be... I don't believe it.
Hes a good friend of the FIL. Asked if i wanted it before he sold it for scrap because he heard I was working on one.
