Don’t give out your pin! Probably don’t have to worry about this group. I love my Progression as well.Yeah, I've been gone a while. lol Now I'm newly retired and have time to kill. Anyway, my HEI bit the dust and after getting pissed at it I bought a Progression Ignition distributor. So far, I'm loving it.
Can you post a pic? I can’t picture what issue you’re having.
I appreciate the offer, its all good thoughI wish you were closer. I have a 1/0 gauge wire that's probably about 15 or 20 feet long because of how they ran it that i removed and coiled up when I rewired the rotte carlo ss before I sold it. I'd have let you use it for testing, but, I'm sure with the weight it'd still cost almost as much as buying new @ $5/ft to ship it up there
Well I did the jump pack over the weekend and it did allow the car to keep running all the way up to temp. So I then ran a tempish wire back to the battery for the power and reconnected to the body ground just to see what it would do. It seemed to allow it to run fine so I did some around the block passes which all seemed to enginewise be good, but still didnt seem like it wanted to shift out of 1st. So went back and check fluid levels on motor and transmission, transmission was fine and I added a bit to the motor and went for a longer run. Went down the main drag a bit and realized that the transmission is definitely not happy, was slipping in second and didn't seem to want to shift. So par the course continues..... got to see a nice lambo on my journeyThe main Holley ground needs the battery - the battery acts as a shock absorber because it’s big. The power supply is nowhere near as important. Using a jump pack won’t prove anything because the entire car is not grounded to it.
Just saying.
A2 single 10 gauge wires from the Holley to the battery will identify your issue. You can always ‘pretty up’ the install later. But you definitely need to have the alternator out of that power supply.
I’ve already mounted my transmission cooler in the airbox, and it takes up a large chunk of real estate by itself:Why not put it in front of the radiator? No need to worry about it blocking air from the radiator.
