What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2023]

I got some very good advice from multiple sources (D) and I might have only followed a piece of it. But I still really appreciate it!!!

I wanted the valve covers to still blend onto the motor. I cleaned them, hit them with some 180 grit, scotch brite and cleaned the heck out of them with soap and water. A quick wipe down and then some VHT high temp clear.

The goal was to not have them stand out as ‘pretty’ but also not have soak up every ounce of oil, coolant, filth that happens upon them.

We’ll see how it hangs in there. And also got the second port to the catch can.

Can you post a pic? I can’t picture what issue you’re having.

That’s the area I’m considering relocating the cooler into, but it’s deceptively large. I could fit the cooler if I mounted it further back but the lower radiator pipe takes up that space.

Why not put it in front of the radiator? No need to worry about it blocking air from the radiator.

I wish you were closer. I have a 1/0 gauge wire that's probably about 15 or 20 feet long because of how they ran it that i removed and coiled up when I rewired the rotte carlo ss before I sold it. I'd have let you use it for testing, but, I'm sure with the weight it'd still cost almost as much as buying new @ $5/ft to ship it up there
I appreciate the offer, its all good though
The main Holley ground needs the battery - the battery acts as a shock absorber because it’s big. The power supply is nowhere near as important. Using a jump pack won’t prove anything because the entire car is not grounded to it.

Just saying.

A2 single 10 gauge wires from the Holley to the battery will identify your issue. You can always ‘pretty up’ the install later. But you definitely need to have the alternator out of that power supply.
Well I did the jump pack over the weekend and it did allow the car to keep running all the way up to temp. So I then ran a tempish wire back to the battery for the power and reconnected to the body ground just to see what it would do. It seemed to allow it to run fine so I did some around the block passes which all seemed to enginewise be good, but still didnt seem like it wanted to shift out of 1st. So went back and check fluid levels on motor and transmission, transmission was fine and I added a bit to the motor and went for a longer run. Went down the main drag a bit and realized that the transmission is definitely not happy, was slipping in second and didn't seem to want to shift. So par the course continues..... got to see a nice lambo on my journey

Rolled around under it and cursed for a while.
Ebay bumper filler rating 4/10. They fill a hole. That's all I can say about em. The driver's side was folded in half in the box. Fitment is absolutely meh.

I’ve already mounted my transmission cooler in the airbox, and it takes up a large chunk of real estate by itself:

It’s probably a little too large for the application, but I don’t want to rob any more air from the radiator if I can help it.
I don’t want to drill any more holes in the airbox either, leaving the mounting bolts for the airbox the only attachments, right up against the core support braces.
