What did you do to your G-Body today 2024

You sure you don't have a problem with the vacuum modulator? My dad had the one in my Monte cranked to the moon and you really had to lay into it to get it to upshift.
It's so intermittent it can't be. It shifts perfectly fine 90% of the time. Plus I had that modulator on my old trans and it worked fine.

20241105_064706.jpggot my transmission back from extreme today.looking better.

Same old same old wasn't cutting it spot putty in excess seems to be the final solution .More spot putty after the end picture today: block sanding primer ect. I'm about ready to wet sand and seal prime the doors and quarters. Proubly, got a few more hours on hood and fenders hope the trim line is good on quarters: Thinking" I should place the trim up against the quarters ( and check fit) ect before any base coats go on...Started buffing all trim with 6" buffer if your trying buffing on a grinder remove all the protective sheilds as you will scratch aluminum on the sheilds you have to use light pressure especially with the narrow trim peices you could ruin it if it grabs it wrong..( trim peices)

Got in some hours on the car today, creeping slowly toward the finish line. Got the new VDO gauges and pod installed, grills and headlight surrounds in place and the radio is in. I am still planning on going with an old school Two Post radio in the future but I had the Super Tuner on the shelf so it'll do for now. Had it outside for a bath this afternoon, was nice out and it needed it. Am going to try and find a better shifter plate, has a big chip (and looks awful in the photo!) from the previous owner slamming the shift lever forward into park. I ended up getting the wheel trim rings and center caps polished and installed as well, but it was dark out by the time I finished, will get some photos another time.

Installed the new Dakota digital gss-3000 shift controller and dgs-12v gear indicator. Was a pretty easy install, instructions were great! Could used a fresh wrap now tho to make it look better.IMG_6233.jpegIMG_6234.jpegIMG_6235.jpegIMG_6236.jpeg

Over the weekend I started trying to strip the black paint off the all the window trims... Tried different methods just to get frustrated and walk away from that. Turned back on the Holley harness. I was never "in love" with how it laid out in the bay. So I pulled the intake, deloomed it. Relaid it out in on the engine and put fresh tessa tape with the Holley loom. It's quite a bit cleaner now. Also replaced the firewall grommet along with running and tying in the Sloppy 6in1 harness. I'll snap some pics tomorrow once I finish the dash side of the Holley stuff.
Started swapping out the front lighting harness from the old stuff to the euro stuff as well.
