My Mazda 6 started leaking trans fluid last week, couldn't figure out where from. Located the leak earlier coming from a crack in one of the cooler lines. Those things sucked getting out, but now just have to bend up new lines and top of the trans. Ran outta daylight so it'll get done in the morning. Also doing an experiment with Evaporust to see how it does on some of the hardware.

That thing looks sketchy AF for anything over 15-20mph, I wanna drive it!!!!!
lol. we bough the frame.50.00. had to make our own break and gas pedal assembly.as well as the steering assembly. this this is stout as hell. we installed new axel and brake set up.it has a predator 212 engine.have a new carb and breather with a bigger jet coming as well as a header and muffler coming. i was surprized how quick it was.we had a problem with the steering but removed the key from the right rear tire now it turns dam good.i bet it does about 35 right now .

The starter in the Ferd decided to crap out today in the Costco parking lot about 20 miles from home, so being myself, I thought "hey there is an AutoZone just down the road, and I have the tools in the toolbox, I'll just swap it out here in the parking lot." So I pulled out the starter and walked the 1/2 mile down the road to the AutoZone.

Me- "I need a starter for a 95 F150 with a 5.0L and a stick."
Kid at the counter- "okay. You want the reman or the brand new?"
Me- "give me the best one you have in stock."

Kid goes back and brings the starter, I open the box, wrong one. I try to explain to him that it won't fit, and he can't seem to understand that you can't mount a starter where ever you want, they either go on the left or right side of the engine.

Kid- "But the part number says it fits..."
Me- "just go get every starter that is for a 1995 F150 off of the shelf, get remans, new ones, ones for auto, stick, 4.9L, 5.0L, 5.8L and 7.5L. I want all of them."

So he comes back with about 11 starters. I open every box and not one is the right one. So I take my old starter and walk down the road, 1/2 a mile in the other direction to an O'Reilly's. Go in, they have it. Give them my core, pay and walk back to the truck at the Costco.

I get back underneath, put the new starter in, and put the tools away, the truck starts right up and I start driving away. Before I get to the other end of the parking lot, I can tell something isn't right. The shifter is vibrating and I'm smelling a burning smell. I pull into a spot and shut the truck back off, the starter is still spinning. It's not engaged, but the motor is turning. And it's getting hot and smoking. I tap on the fender relay, no dice. So I disconnected the battery to get the starter to shut off. I got underneath to make sure none of the wires are grounding out on anything and they aren't.

At this point it had been several hours and I was hot and tired and fed up, so I called AAA to send a tow truck. I had it towed back home and I'll work on it sometime this week. I'm wondering if the O'Reilly's starter was bad right out of the box. It was rebuilt in some third world country in Asia, so it wouldn't surprise me. It's going back to O'reillys and getting swapped out. I have a bunch of those fender relay laying around so I'll swap that out too. Occam's razor leads me to highly doubt the ignition switch itself is bad. Anyways I'll work on it later this week, I'm too irritated to keep messing with it today.

Similar to Joe, I went hunting for trans cooler lines for my Mazda 6, and nobody has them locally. Being it's my daily I don't have two days to wait, so I grabbed a 5 foot piece of steel line, measured, bent, and flared them up as close to stock as I could.
The Zoom Zoom is back in bidniss, but dang that job sucked!!
