What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2020]

Spent a few hours at the building this afternoon. Finished welding the tailgate solid. Then focused my attention on the side gate. Mocked it up and cut out the railing on the trailer. I think it's going to work out perfectly

When it's down it will look like a solid rail and when it's up it will act as a handrail. It should make loading the machine easier

The odd shape triangle is so when it's up I can still get to the regular and valve for airflow. Next I'm building a simple fold down step and the handrail portion of the gate will lock it in place when in transit

Haven't made videos in years. I decided to choose a race to make videos 1: to hopefully assist the n00bz and 2: because I'm going to submit my fast lap to Racers360 to have a pro analyze it and tell me where I need to go faster. Hopefully the lap I send isn't so flawed I get nothing from it. I don't think that'll be the case though, they're pros for a reason. Anyway, here's the full R3 from last Sunday:

And here's the fast lap from that race which was the fast lap of my weekend. A whopping 2:05.9. My personal best when it's not hot AF is a 2:03.5XX and the lap record if a mfin 2:02.95. Fingers crossed I can not only knock over a personal best (which I think I nailed Oct 2018 on a rando untimed practice day) but also claim a lap record In the name of me and not Cryin Bryan her in October. Until then, the goal is to swap the C5 brakes for some Stoptechs with 2 piece floating rotors. Once that does nothing, I'll find a new area of mechanical deficiency to aim at the car.

If you look closely in my videos above, you can see me left door tapping the brake pedal. I've lived with knockback since I bought the car, but after driving my friend's car (he wasn't there the weekend of the video, he runs my pace or better), I realized I needed a more consistent brake pedal. Over the winter, I made a master cylinder brace.

This helped, but once stuff gets hot I get knockback. I swapped out my 4th gen hubs for much larger C7 hubs.

Less bad, still nowhere near what I'm after. Today I pooped out $1,170 for 2 piece floating rotors. The rings are available, hats are 4-6 weeks out. I'm 6 weeks and 3 days out from the practice day for my next race, so we'll see. I still need to grab pads and fluid for the swap and rebuild the 4 pot fixed Stoptech calipers I have on the shelf.

Care to describe what knockback is and why it's a $1200 problem? I have no familiarity with that term.
