New upper overloads for the dually! Stock they got 1, but the cab and chassis trucks got 3.

The donor got hit pretty good. The main leaves broke on both sides, these overloads narrowly escaped. Check out that swaybar! Puts my Hellwig right to shame. The diff housing is different as is the frame rails width so would require some fab to get this working on my truck.

Actually, today was more a case of me watching and others doing the grunt work; apart from, of course, me managing to level the mounds of dirt that have been occupying a fair amount of what used to be my back lawn by returning them back into the trench they came from. Why?
Because I now officially have HEAT!!! in my shop/garage/shed/me-cave. The install crew showed up on Monday and ran and buried the delivery kit for the gas line as far as into the building. Yesterday It got warm enough that I could take a shovel and fill the trench back in; with all the cold and frost the last few weeks this was not the potentially easy-peasy piece of labor that you might think. Good thing I got energetic too because last night it got cold again and things were frosty this AM until about lunch. I think the muscle spasms from abused muscles due to having to deal with frozen earth will ease up in a few days. Today the crew returned, drilled the wall for the exhaust pipe, hung the furnace from the rafters and did the plumbing and wiring needed to complete the install package. Nice sized unit and quiet. High Efficiency. This will make winter projects a lot easier on the bones and body. I still have to do a little ladder climbing and pump in a few beads of caulk and seam sealer into various areas unrelated to the furnace as well as add some door floss to seal up the garden doors a little better than has been the case. Hey, when you have to depend on a portable heater that is one cycle away from going on strike due to running almost continuously during previous winters, a little bit of draft didn't really matter as inside and outside were about the same temperature any way. While not as pretty as a project vehicle or car craft, it does dump the stress levels significantly. May take a post a pic or two just for the record and to keep the insurance people happy. (Now if I could only get the roofers to show up and do their thing................)

Got the remaining parts needed to finish up my modular sway-bar install under my modded 64 Chevy. I carved up some temporary wood 'arms' to allow verifying alignment of everything before committing to cutting the splined steel arms to size (since they were $85ea)....

Busted azz over at my buddy Mike’s today on the trunk lid and associated parts for his ‘57 Chevy.

Prepped all the parts to begin with, then set up his temporary spray booth and hung the smaller parts. That’s yours truly hanging stuff.

Then hit everything with a coat of epoxy primer:

Once that set up for an hour, the parts got one coat of red, and the underside of the trunk lid got two nice wet ones:

Didn’t put a single run in anything, how is it possible that I can do that on other people’s stuff but not my own?!?

What's the secret to painting in a garage without getting buckets of overspray dust back on the panel? Everything I have done in a garage turned out good but I had atrocious levels of overspray dust both from clear and basecoat settling out of the air and in the paint as it cures. Real good fans?

Scrubbed and detailed my wife's petri dish... err... truck's interior. And added some PPF to the sills (they were looking a bit rough).

Winter tires go on tomorrow, probably give it a bath too.
