What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2021]

More abuse videos. I placed 1st, 2nd, and 1st.

I hadn't been doing these videos for a couple of years, but started again in hopes of the n00bz learning something. But they're so damned washed out I'm not sure if that's a reality or not. I think I'm supposed to wave my hand in front of the Hero3 when I fire it up for that?

Finally got to installing the starter after work today. Parents picked it up for me since I had to do a 12 hour shift on Friday.

Thought it would be a really cheapo one, but its an Ac Delco model which is fine with me.

The good news is, it fits great, and turns over the engine faster and I can definitely confirm it's not 100 percent seized.

The bad news is, its still turning a bit slow and sounds like it is struggling.

I hope it's the battery I am using, but just in case I am gonna spray PB in the spark plug holes, and change the oil as well.

Maybe someone has tips for getting tired engines to get healthy lmfao?

Does the engine turn freely (ir smooth and easy with a breaker bar?) and it's just the starter struggling?

You've got two choices here: 1) check your battery, cables, ground straps, etc now that the starter and solenoid are new. 2) if the engine itself isn't turning freely which is why the starter struggles get some marvel mystery oil down the bores and get things turning free, could be some stuff inside is sticking or was headed to freezing up. My guess is the former though, #1.

If all else fails post a picture of an ls motor on the garage wall. The car will get the crap scared out of it for fear you will deface and vandalize it and may run better.

Make sure the stater pad on the block isn't painted or cruddy, same with the starter bolts/holes. Big clean ground cable to the frame. Big clean battery ground cable to the block/frame. Big clean power cable to the starter main.

And for Christmas' sake make sure the battery isn't sh*te.

Dad's 99.8% responsible but I helped find him some wheels and hold things over the years.

It's always under construction but he took out the home made teardrop this weekend to our camping trip. It's built from scratch over the last 4 years or so. 14x5 wheels wheels off a nova, cougar hubcaps, 4th gen f body wheel hub bearings, victory motorcycle fenders, Impala power sunroof. It has an ac unit too and a sink and ice chest built into the kitchenette.

Grabbed a bottle of some MMO and threw it in the 283, then used the breaker bar and managed to successfully turn the engine, so I can confirm for sure its not seized.

Still not starting yet but the starter is struggling less which is good.
