Been having static problems using my FM transmitter for my phone, so I ordered this ground loop isolator off eBay.

Wasn’t able to really test it for long, because a friend of mines Dad really wanted to hear what it sounded if we bridge the amp in my car, and well…

He got the mega fuse hooked up to the battery burnt up. Glad there was something in place though 😎

Helped a friend of mine that I used to live with replace the retaining wall on the shop. I did the engine swap on the wagon and built my rear on the 2+2 here.

Had rotten railroad ties, replaced with block.

I helped lay course 5 and 6. I can only claim I helped for 5% of the labor tops

My buddy had 116 ton of gravel and 42k lb of block delivered.

Started with this.

Ripped the bandaid off.

Got this far.

Then this happened.

If I'm honest, I put north of 100psi into that short lived basketball. The harder I sent it, the more the quarter panel moved. Until it didn't. The HF pneumatic dent puller was ineffective here. I think I need to cave and at least stud gun the leading edge. I'm open to ideas that don't involve replacing the quarter as I'm ill equipped for that here and insufficiently motivated back home. Good enough is good enough, but we're not quite there yet.

So I finally brought the S-10 into Bay One yesterday, so today became day one of the yearly grind. First thing to do was to get it off the ground so up on the 5 tons it went. At notch three, they create just enought height that a body can slither around under the unit and see what is to be seen.

Right now the drain plug is still out of the oil pan. I have new plugs and o-rings waiting for pickup tomorrow in my travels.

What you see above is what is left of the passenger's side exhaust system post muffler. ROTTEN doesn't begin to describe what I found when I started checking it over. I knew going in that I had one pipe that had suffered a blowout somewhere along its length; the exhaust note was telling me that. However, I wasn't sure which side it was until Sunday morning when I lit it off to let it warm up a little before moving it and noticed a definite lack of exhaust coming out of the forward dump.

For those of you in "HUH? Wtf" mode, my S-10 has true duals from the head pipes back. Dual cats, H-pipe, dual mufflers and dual pipes to just after the rear end where they both dump out the passenger side. Having one on the driver's side wasn't an option; gas tank sits squarely in the road. Total elephant and no lettuce to induce it to move. Last year I did the driver's pipe and replaced the whole thing from the muffler back. At that point the passenger's looked to be still serviceable but during the winter it started to get loud, louder, more louder...........you get the idea. I knew it wasn't ahead of the mufflers because the O-2 sensors weren't complaining, so.

Next step is a trip to the local big box automotive store to see if they have the correct OD in exhaust pipe that I need, plus a trip up to the mezzanine to see what is hiding up there. Bother.

How hard would it be to just cut out the inner support and BFH the fender back into shape, then weld the inner panel back in? It would be fairly quick, and shouldn't cause you to fail tech inspection if it is welded back in.

My trip on the roof involved the hammer but with tar & a putty knife, a nice challenge when there's nothing to hold on to. It made me look forward to paying someone to put a new roof on.

Back when I was young and dumb (instead of old and dumb, like now), I framed, sheeted and shingled this with another guy...14/12, as I recall.

Did this one, too. Built from the foundation up by myself and another (same as last pic) guy. Built those second-story windows in place and had a glazier do the glass.

Man, i used to DO stuff.

This one was for a lady realtor that drove a '78 pace car Vette year-round...in Iowa. It was a year-old car. Yeah, I'm THAT old.

This is worth investigating back home with my welder, there would be a channel just wide enough to use.
