Because it has the LS Input Shaft and the front 4 Gears needed that match the Countershaft inside. Put all them on the Fbody Mainshaft and then build up around it. This one being a 1993 where the front 4 are the oddball and only match the Countershaft, which only matches the Input Shaft, is why I would have to go through that to build up a fully functional LS Fbody type T56 with my parts here. Why the Corvette front section? I have a Corvette T56 that I want to convert for f body use and need a custom mainshaft in addition to the front f body stuff I thought?
To convert a C5 Corvette T56 into Fbody you need the LS Fbody Front Plate, Tailshaft Housing, Fbody Mainshaft, Shift Rail, Inspection Cover Plate, and probably a couple small things like the 17x Reluctor for the VSS, Shifter base cup, few snap rings..
Given I have an Fbody T56 already it's easier to start with that, I got a bonus with the LS Front Plate.
You won't find a T56 in any yard unless it's completely murdered.I'm sure there's some busted parts unit in a salvage yard somewhere... car-part.com maybe?
With the above said, I found one from a guy I know down the street. C5 Corvette T56, part number says its a MN6 type so from a coupe. Gave him $400 for it. Came from a running car just sitting for a bit.
I'll get to this when I get bored haha.
