Got back to the shop today after a long route to find two concrete blocks under the driver side of my daily Mazda. Kinda baffled since the wheels were still on, then lightbulb moment! Sure as shizz, some scumbags cut the cat off 😡😡!!!! It pisses me off, but could be worse. Karma is a biotch!View attachment 168036View attachment 168037
it's to bad those cement blocks didn't give out and keep that MF there so you could've met them in person..
i will kill you jim GIF

The 289 I had in my Crown Victoria had the oil pump suck up chunks of valve seal, locked the pump, and snapped the shaft. I've even heard of folks with thick oil in cold weather doing that with the Fords.
willing to be that happened. or something very similar. there were bits of seal around the oil drainback holes in the heads.

afaik the engine is still fine. when we got it fired up, there was oil on the top end, no knocks or anything. revved up fine.

I guess I'll find out after I get it all back together. it's far too cold and im far too lazy to take that big b*tch out of that bigger b*tch to fully inspect.

Drove my Mazda home on Friday and dang it's loud without the converter! I ordered a new setup which is expected tomorrow, weather permitting. Y'all know the saying when it rains if pours.....I pulled in my driveway and saw a puff of smoke and could smell coolant. Get out and look to see coolant dripping at a decent pace by the water pump.

Turns out it's a stupid plastic coolant Tee fitting on the heater hose. Also turns out to be a common issue for the small side of the tee to break, just my luck. As soon as I touched the hose it fell off lol! I originally was going to just put a Dorman help heater hose T in it's place, but the hoses are splitting from age and wear, so I hopped on rockauto and ordered the assembly since it has upgraded parts and a metal T fitting. Still cheaper than a car payment I guess.

good luck to that lad, dad's no pushover..

He tries.

So my oldest had a school assignment that involved levers, pulleys, axles, wheels and such. The project required building a "simple machine" using some of those elements. I asked Tatiana what she knew of that met the criteria - she settled on a tank.

I had her sketch it up, and we got to work.

She'd planned for a tub and turret made of wood. I told her to GTFO and we'd be using steel.

Long story short we used most of the elements to come up with a satisfying result. Using some previous skills, and some new ones... like welding.
