Get that shizz on a frame rack and get piece of mind. If it’s within spec, send it and don’t give it another thought. But if it’s off get it straightened. At least you’ll know either way.

Yesterday became a mental health day.

Helped my oldest do a WHMIS demonstration for her health class. We had a little of everything including counter-measures and PPE. I wanted to start a fire and do some chemical reactions, but didn't.

Then I hand-bombed a bunch of patio stones around the property to create a bit of a driveway/ramp into the side door of the garage. It's been a bit wet and soupy around the building lately, and the high amount of in/out traffic was making for muddy wheels, tires, and quarter panels when things got slippery. We have plans to put down a 3/4 crushed stone path later this year.

And then I washed the HellKitty so I can detail it over the next few days. Therapy.

Here's how the front of the Camaro should look (my donor/insurance shell):

Aaaaand here's what I'm working with.

Looks to me like my eyeball 1/8" shift at the core support is pretty close to accurate. If I want to have a clean conscience with this thing I NEED to take it to a frame rack. This side has pre-existing damage and the ride height side to side has always been off. I suspect the right shock tower is hiked up higher on this side. Miraculously the corner weights shake out excellent so on the other hand maybe I should leave it alone?
A good/strong telephone pole or tree, a chain, a method of attaching said chain to car, tug car with chain attached to telephone pole or tree to correct, then send it. Atleast on the North Side of Pittsburgh that's how it's done.

Got the safety done for the Caprice, kinda disappointed the parking brake cable was needed when the shop out in the country didn’t care about it on my Bonneville. Guess city mechanics are different 😱

I paid a little over 2k for new control arms, ball joints, shocks, etc.

Disconnected the EGR valve, which threw a check engine light :/ Waiting for a block off plate, and a sunny day to jigsaw off the muffler & catalytic conv.

I'd go full retard on the Camaro if it didn't drive perfectly fine after that hit. I went and biffed the metal back out to an easy 90%.

Good enough for government work. Time to hang a fender on it. Next is a copy/paste from my dually thread. The idea was to beef up the upper overload leaf pack initially, but then the truck decided to tear itself apart. Stuff got weird.

I got those leaf spring pads in.

I didn't have to break it to get it in. I think these are shorter than stock.

And it turns out BOTH leaf spring center pin bolts had snapped.

Looks like the one even started backing out.

Boom.

I only did the 1 extra for now. The arc of the C&C overload is different than my trucks, I just sent the thing right home and it all sucked together. You can see where the tips aren't touching. The factory upper is flat in the middle then arches up toward the outside. The C&C is arced more like the lowers. I hope I don't get interference between the uppers and the main.

Fixed the check engine light with a resistor here today, since the new thermostat housing is nearly twice the price with the new sensor and plugs for ported vacuum.

Derr, the main sure flattens out in the ground. Good to go here!

Re: sold it.......................Well sh*t. What a downright pristine piece of property to have to give up to urban stupidity. Not even going to speculate on its future; too depressing.

On the whole business of patio stones and the work they create, so far I have poured 14 x 5 gallon pails of quarry grade crusher fines into the pockets and areas that have cut and created for the new pavers for my lawn side garage door. I still have two or so pails left to use for shimming or raising pavers to achieve flat or alignment. Each pail was around 50 lbs or so and every one had to be filled by hand shovel and hand bombed from the truck all the way to the work site; no back lane access. Works out around 900 pounds of fine rock that had to be dumped and spread and raked out and packed. Which leads me to my current project.

That being a custom made hand truck or dolly that is supposed to have been for moving gas tanks for my Miller. Now it's working test will be moving 24" x 24" cement pavers or patio stones to their positions so they can be set in place and checked for flat. I have about 10 days left before surgery so if it doesn't get done by the middle of the following week it won't happen until fall. The surgery itself is not all that nasty, it is just the recuperation time; 21 would be nice, get the work done and crawl out of the body shop and head for the nearest bar. still heal faster than nowadays. Oh yeah, pictures.... do have some so maybe in a few days........................

bought this car 85 euro sport 2 door dont see the 2 doors any more. about 3 weeks ago. garage find.one owner. in 94 they had a manufactured engine installed he paid 2975.00 for the engine and 673.00 for the install. i have the recipe for the motor and the install.. guy drove it for a couple months and was put in a senior center. they sold the house. the guy that bought the house was going to scrap it.because it sat for over 25 years in a garage. he was worried it was rusted out. i bought it from him with title. for 200.00 he delivered it to me for 50.00. i got it started but had bad gas. the fuel pump and line were leaking.i replaced them . still had a problem with stalling. removed the tank and it was full of rust. ordered a new tank and sending unit. installed the new tank . put gas it it . she fired right up and purrs like a kitten. washed up as well. not bad for a 400.00 car included the cost of the car. he only put about 475 miles on the new engine before he parked it. not even broke in yet.

Finally did the oil change on the Caprice today, used about 4 quarts of oil and 1 quart of STP high mileage treatment.

Would have done it sooner because I couldn't get the oil pan bolt out, then my stepdad kindly reminded me I should be using imperial and not metric tools *laughs in Canadian*
