I still pine for a diesel, but not the drama they come with.

'nuther LS1Tech copy/paste, c'mon in and hate on the welds.

Still waiting to hear back on the pressure check on the heads. I'm gonna have to harass him a bit to light a fire I think.

Last weekend I got all the wiring and crap peeled back off of the fenders.

Here's the 20+ extraneous holes I'm going to plug up.

Here's most of them plugged up.

And here's the problem I ran into when I tried plugging the leftover pinholes.

The area I blew through, for whatever reason, is absolutely razor thin. I'm going to have to weld in a piece of filler behind it to be able to accomplish anything. The rest I should be able to zap in from behind. Next I turned my attention inside the car. This thing is absolutely tearing itself apart.

The bolt and washers is a ghetto rig from many moons ago. You'll see its purpose here soon as I'll be tackling it next. You can see 2 spot welds that are separating as well, there's more on the trans tunnel.

Partway through this repair, I realized my helmet was working properly so I could use my eyes. It usually has a delay that causes me to close my eyes until it shades. Most of these welds are too quick for that to happen, so I end up doing it blind. Next was this crack that had propagated quite a bit since I last laid eyes on it.

For years it was nothing more than the smiley faced bit.

This one went pretty quick, since I could use my eyes I even welded a hole shut that I created with ease. Next was this new one.

I got it good up top, but blew through on the bottom. Probably going to stay that way. Here's what is letting go on the trans tunnel.

Looks OK in this pic, but those top 2 are separated.

Burned into the wet bottom of the property today. Wore snake boots as was warm out and reptiles are moving and cranky. Working to get invasive species out so need the get hatchet and Arsenol to hack and squirt larger ones. Then backpack sprayer for the stuff the fire didn't kill. Had to move around Hurricane Michael debris still but all in all a good effort. Deserved the cold beer afterwards.

Update on the anniversary found out we have reservations for dinner down the road here in point pleasant at what is supposed to be the best steak house in Jersey. Now I need to decide what to eat.
I'm thinking Bacon or scallops for an appetizer

Happy Anniversary!

FYI, "Steak and a BJ Day" is still two weeks away. Just so happens to be Natasha's birthday. Win-win!

Spent yesterday and today cleaning and decorating for my youngest's birthday party. First one in two years.

I wanted a Hot Wheels theme, she wanted Unicorns... she won.

Replaced the rubber hoses and master on the truck. Also attempted to replace 3 wheel studs broken on the drivers side rear but the holes are so wallowed out its almost a futile effort. New hard parts will be bought with income tax.

only broke 1 bleeder too.

Got some more demo done on the bathroom. Found a couple of rotted wall studs. Thankfully its an interior wall and does not seem to be load bearing. Stepped on a nail and limping around so I can't do much more work until it heals.

Adapter? For the diff size fittings or am I missing something?

To retrofit the TBI stuff to a Vortec truck, you'll be deleting the rear wheel ABS which you didn't even pull I don't think. To thread that single rear line directly into the proportioning valve you're going to need an adapter. For the life of me, the size escapes me.
