What did you do to your shop today?

After a month of dicking around with the city I finally got the permit for my new shop build.

Nice! What are the dimensions? What building company are you using?
40' x 30' x 10'. It's a steel building company up here called Tower Steel Buildings. they've actually been pretty good to deal with so far. No high pressure, "quote only valid for 2 weeks" kind of stuff, or these tactics of claiming that they "just had a company cancel an order and the boss is clearing out the buildings for 50% off" Did consider going stick built, but with the price of lumber this year....

Got the keys to my new shop today. Soon it's moving time!

Hey fellow Twattonian - in rough numbers what is the estimated total for the build?

Almost concrete time.

Got an update from the home front.

Before pouring.... any areas getting reinforced for a future lift? Way cheaper now to sneak it in after inspector looks and before the concrete guy comes to pour if you're concerned about variations in the approved plans.

It's not like it's for building purposes, just to install equipment.

That was part of the original quote, the whole pad is good for a hoist. It was a really cheap upgrade and a no brainer for me.

Plus 220v 100amp electric service and a gas line for heat. I have wanted a real workspace forever, I wasn't going to skimp when I finally get it.

Nice.

We're you going to have an indoor drain to wash any of the cars in the winter? Or do you guys suffer through thay beet juice mixture that stinks no matter what you do anyways?

Avoided it. The Th350 is ready to get snatched and dropped. Big problem here is me. Just coming off another battle with my lungs and sinuses and my body is so lethargic and fatigued right now that I get +8 hrs of sleep, have breakfast, and just want to head back to the rack and crash out again. Have an audio link set with my doctor for wednesday.
