Certified as BMW car mechanic 30 yrs ago.
Worked as station manager vor a big car rental company for several years, switched into sales for a semiconductor company flying through Europe and the US for years. Ran my own 4x4 shop for 3 years, had serious problems with my Lunge, so now back in the office as project manager for an automotive company which specializes in drivers training for industrial test drivers. My is everything from running the fleet, playing the prototype test driver to manage our event facility. Part of my job and also my side gig is driving instructor for offroad vehicles from 4x4 cars up to 8x8 trucks. I am also project manager for our sportscar rental, having Porsches, Corvettes and the like in the fleet.
Also doing the IT stuff in the office, since I graduated as software developer 2 years ago.
In my free time I worked in a volounteer rescue squad for 20 years.

I think most of us who have were born mid century of the last decade have had various jobs....I started off with my own business at around 12 years repairing bicycles, after the parts were paid for I got paid mostly with hockey and baseball cards....from there life has been going downhill....

It's more like Jack of all trades.
When I grew up my dad just retired from the German air force (Luftwaffe) and ran his own small town garage with gas station. So it was clear that my older brother and me went into car repairs. But I've also been a sales person all my life and somehow have a talent explaining things, so it was natural for me to go into this direction. And to be honest, sales is sales, no matter if you sell cars (which I did for a year also) or diapers.
The driving thing grew from my youth, always been a gearhead and ever will be. So right now the job fits me well.

I was an Executive Chef until I figured out that they didn't make much money.

Computers had been my hobby since I got my first Atari 800XL in the early 80's.. I just didn't want my hobby to become my job for fear of not wanting to come home and play.. Turned out they made decent money, so I jumped in the industry a couple decades or so ago.. Software Security Engineer now.

You mentioned driving trucks of all kinds...4x4 and 8x8...I always wanted one of these. The Swiss Army is probably out of stock by now.
