What radio do you have in your G-body?

Other than not being HD which again is still hit and miss here in Kansas anyway, I don't know that the tuners on these Retro units are substandard. Hopefully will find out "pretty soon" but I do spend more time listening to just USB music. You get within 50 miles of Wichita and KC you get HD. Pretty much the rest of the state is still standard RF.

This look better? They don't have chrome knobs that exactly match the factory but they have a number of replacements. There might be others that look better too [??]. I like it better than the cheap plastic button type. Should have this thing in this weekend.

Old school baby takin ya way back bumpin the 8 track!

Lol no I'm afraid to put my only tape in it I don't want it eaten
I used to have an old '76 Cadillac El Dorado that had a factory 8-track. To listen to CD's, I had an 8-track to cassette adapter, with one of those cassette to 3.5mm headphone jack adapters, hooked to an old Discman. The sound quality was...less than stellar.

Been there dun that it should be instructions. How to make a CD sound bad lol I'm actually looking for a 8-track to cassette adapter now

i have a 1980 olds cutlass and it has electrical issues including the radio. i took it out and hooked it up on the bench still no life. as soon as i get everything else working i will get a new used radio at pull and save, maybe a more modern one with a cd player.

I have a Kenwood single DIN from Crutchfield and I really love it. Just put it in last year with some new speakers. The factory radio was just fine with an fm transmitter, but I love being able to plug in a USB drive with my tunes on it (no battery or signal strength to worry about) and I can play CDs now. Unfortunately it's competing with glasspacks for control of my eardrums. haha
I kept the factory unit and intend to turn it into a home stereo with a D/C A/C converter.

I reverted back to the original Delco radio after installing a Kenwood with a Sony 2 channel amp while using a 2 Ω load to all speakers. There was more power over 4 Ω but I prefer "stereo" over monoaural.
