That's funny. Back in the day, I had a buddy with a ratty non running 72 GS350. He pulled the rear springs out and cut 4x4 blocks to hold the rear of the car up high enough to mount a set of old Goodyear slicks on old Cragar SST rims just so it had "the look" sitting in front of his mom's house.

Mallory, LOVE your wagon! :) Please don't be a stranger. Thinking of 245/45-17s at all four corners on 17x8s. Any recommendations for backspacing/offset? Would 17x8s cause rubbing in the front at full lock?
That's the size I have on the sedan. Stock mustang GT wheels 96ish. I have a 1" spacer and the wheels will barely touch the upper a arms at full lock.

The Malibu has been done so long (12 years) that my memory is not that good. I actually think the rims up front are 17x7 because I did have some rubbing issues. The rears are definitely 17x8's. Sorry for the slow response. I'm not on the computer that much.

What is the BS on the wheels? 4.5"? Any mods to your suspension? Any tire rub? Thinking about the gold dazzlers for my 85 442..
I don't recall the back-spacing since I purchased them a while ago. I purchased them from TireRack and relied on their guidance for fitment.

18x8 255/40 4.5” bs on the front and 18x9.5 275/40 5” bs on the rear with no modifications View attachment 80810

How's the clearance in the rear? Along the frame as well as the wheel opening lip? I really want to go with 275 wide in the rear without having to notch or anything. Was thinking I'd be stuck with nothing wider than 255.

Had to do some serious body mods (cut the fenders) but I stuffed a set of 315/35-17 nittos on all four corners. They sit on 17X11 weld RT-S wheels with a 3.7 BS. The car has been lowered 2” and my N90’s with 265/60-15’s even rubbed in the front
