I would vote for a blown 377, destroked 400. For fuel injection I would agree with 85 Cutlass Brougham. He also basically described the ZR1 LT5 engine, aluminum block, dual overhead cam, 16 injectors, 3.9" bore and 3.66" stroke. Very fun motor to play with.

I'd go with a ZZ4 vortec crate engine. You can't build an engine pricewise and compete with GM performance crate engines..

Well the good thing is that my motor already has a good set of 202 heads that I put on cause I was told the 194 heads weren't worth the rebuild and not good for performance. I could invest in aluminum heads but I think the ones I have will work fine. Of course I want to get a 383 stroker kit but my dad keeps on insisting I go with a forged crank cause he just doesn't trust "cast" cranks.

He might have but a ZZ4 costs a little over $4,000. ...for a few more dollars you can increase the 355 hp to over 460...an engine can't be built with that kind of hp for that kind of money unless you have an inhouse machine shop..
